Scissors vs. Pretzels?

whats the difference between a scissor and a pretzel on a rail/box?i though pretzels were when one lowers the nose on one ski and the tail on another and uses that to spin off, but i heard someone call this a scissor?are they the same thing?

a pretzel is a spin on to a spin off. like a left 2 on, backside 2 out. In order to grip the rail, one must 'scissor' to stop their rotation and move in the other direction. ya dig?

There two completely different things... A pretzel is when you change your direction of spinning on the rail; so lets say you spin a left 270 on, and than you spin a right 270 out, that would be a 270 on pretzel 270 out. That also apply s for any switch ups. Scissors is a term people use to describe edge pressure, like you dig our skis into the box or rail to get a better grip on it, unless some1 made a a trick called a scissor and i never heard about it...

nah pretzels are where you spin off the box/rail in the opposite direction that you spun onto it for instance-a pretzel 270 would be like spinning left side 270 onto the rail and then doing a bs 270 off

alright so pretzles and scissors are most exaggerated on boxes because of the width between coping, a scissor is when your jump on to a rail and you put your weight on your back ski and with your front one lift it off the box so only the part touching the coping closer to you tail is on the box, this will change your momentum and and alloy you to spin out and such,

a pretzle is when you spin on and do the same thing but with your other ski and your nose to stop your momentum.

either way the purpose is to grip the rail which makes it easier to spin on the rail or off of it

because you are the only one who explains it this way and it is completely different than everyone else im gonna say you are wrong.

sorry i know i kinda skipped to the description, the definition is just spin on and spin off in opposite direction, but i kinda got into explaining it

actually, scissors or "gripping" is better done on rails and narrower boxes. a scissor is when you angle your leading ski and grip your edge to stop rotation and slow down slightly on a rail, and yes that will help you to spin.

and since y is not even close to w on a keyboard, im gonna call you out for spelling allow wrong while im ranting lol.

i know its easier to do on thinner boxes and rails, and its harder on boxes therfore it has to be more exaggerated to work on boxes, thats what i meant
