might be a stupid question, but is the southpark episode even vaguely correct on how scientology works? who do scientologists worship? how do they worship that person?
 
From what I have heard South Park is pretty legit, but you only learn that after years of giving them your money.

When you think about it, it is just as abstract as any religion. Stupid really I hope people start to wake up.
 
They easily could have done an episode on Christianity and made it look 10 times nuttier than Scientology. But that's religion I guess. People will figure it out eventually.

For now we just have to wait for an atheist president to make this country really have a separation of church and state.
 
no kidding and I don't really classify myself as an atheist I'm more in the "Agnostic" camp in that I don't know. And anyone that tells you that they do know what happens after you die IE heaven, get your own planet, virgins are full of shit and a liar. You know how I know they are lying? Because I don't know what happens and there is no way they do.

Even our founding fathers thought that religion was retarded (sorry Palin family). So anyone who says this is a Christian nation or founded on the bible is a fucking fool.

agnostic is the way to go. even if there was some sort of divine creator (omniscient, immortal, etc...), his existence would be beyond our universal realm of understanding. we have a long way to go before we can even begin to comprehend a force capable of creating "something" from "nothing"
 
When I get in debates with religious people and I ask them "if god is so powerful and loving why does he let bad things happen to good people?" They always respond "He is complicated and works in mysterious ways, It would be like trying to explain how a TV works to an ant."

Well isn't the inverse true. Us worshiping an all powerful god asking for things is like a group of ants worshiping a person. It would be like an ant trying to communicate his hopes, dreams, and fears to a person. And how much remorse does a person feel crushing an ant?

It really is ridiculous and its up to logical people to make themselves known, learn the debate and talk to religious people. I have lived with several religious people and by the time they move out they are in my camp for sure. I'm not a dick about I just point out how silly it is and eventually they agree.
