this is for kootenayguy. ok, so if the law of superposition is a 'milestone' of the evolution theory...then explain to me the concept of polystrate fossils, will you? it most often occurs with petrified tree trunks, where they run vertically through many many layers of the earth.
there are 3 possible ways to look at them. either the tree stood upright for millions of years while sediments and therefore many layers accumulated around them, or maybe the tree grew through hundreds of feet of solid sedimentary rock looking for sunlight? how about the most plausible explanation. the trees were buried upright following a big flood.
these polystrate fossils are found all over the world, basically everywhere.
thats just one example of a type of evidence that defies the 'law' of superposition, as it related to the geologic timescale and the theory of evolution.
