Schweitzer Ski Trip

Hey NS,

Myself and a bunch of other skiers are doing a christmas break trip to Schweitzer, we're from Canada. None of us enjoy riding park and we would mostly be looking for difficult terrain to shred. We have all the avi equipment and touring stuff which we would like to make use of.

Can anyone here enlighten me on where I can find some terrain at Schweitzer. Where should I try and mostly ride on the mountain? Any secrets? ;)

Also, what's the night life like? We will be there over new years so any tips would be excellent.

Any tips in general for traveling to Schweitzer?

Thanks in advance!

yes. it is very good. south bowl and big blue are really good. night life depends on the night your there. the cliffs are pretty small. i think the largest is 35ft. and it is good. i only ski park though. so that is all i have to say

I'm heading out there sometime in the next 2 weeks, hows the snowpack and hows the season been? Super dry our here in Oregon. Have you guys had any snow? How is the schweitzer park?

Anything on the backside is good for steeps, powder and cliffs. Check out the t-bar also. It's pretty icy right now but snow is in the forecast. Hit me up for partying, I'll be up there for new years. There's some bars on the mountain with occasional bands playing, but I don't know much about bars in town. Oh and park is fun so far, lots of rails set up and a couple small jumps.

def ski outback. best conditions as of now. watch for flat spots/gullies if you are into the trees. would not advise hitting Mid Rock straight on due to small trees still in the landing but check it out anyway.

pm me for further info
