Schools closed on jan. 2 for national day of mourning?

is this true, some kids were saying that we didn't have school, i live in ny and any info would be appreciated
 
mourning for who? i know a girl last year passed away cause of skin cancer on the second. in new york
 
Its like President fords holday or something.

I went to the motorcade and there was soooo many peoples watching.

 
I'm pretty sure we still have school, it would be cool to have it but I don't really think he really deserves a day of mourning. I mean we had school on 9/12 didnt we?
 
About 10 years ago. Most of my family lives there so I go pretty often. Where do you ski? I don't even remember there being a ski hill.
 
Not true. i live in NY and my dad was complaining we dont have the day off. Ford died a few days ago so were definetly no tfettin the day off.
 
fuck this. i looked it up, all the big federal agencies are closing. public schools get federal funds, what makes them better than huge organizations like nasdaq with will be closing. fuck public education.
 
it was declared a national holdiday by bush, banks and government offices are going to be closed. But im not sure about the schools though.
 
its not soo bad this break is over but well get through january really fast then 2 weeks in feb and we got another week off. then same thing for march week off in april then another month and no more HS ever! if you look at it like that its not so bad
 
i have to go to school, but my stepmom and dad who are both lawyers don't have work, because they work in the federal system
