because school is starting soon, i was just wondering what do you guys do for school? do most of you do public school, online school, ski schools? im considering online so i was wondering how you guys manage school and skiing? not like just weekend skiing but weekdays to and traveling for comps.

im goigng to a public school this year from a private rich kid school. (im not loaded for the record) and this is going to be the first year im on a team as well. i get out of school 2 hours early 2 days a week and travel all over colorado for comps. pretttty legit.

as far as college goes. id say utah is probably one of the best places to go. mountains are real close. close enough to have class in the mornings and then ski a half day at any of the 8 area resorts. (PC, alta, brighton, snowbird, canyons, etc.)

i just save up my classes that i can take online for the winter, like last winter i had 2 onlines and then on 3 credit on thursday nights, so i just lived up at the mountain all week and would come back to the city on thursdays

im gonna be a junior at public skool....i dont get to leave early or anything but i ski every night at the hill 30 min away...the school is really chill and lets me take off whenever i want to go to comps as long as i make HW arrangements

im now in a ski resort management course at selkirk college, im starting in september, and cant imagine that fitting skiing in could be that hard

If you want to ski alot, at normal school you can still get plenty of skiing done. If you want even more, I wouldn't suggest online school because if you want to do any post-secondary it doesn't look too good. See if there is a good independent studies school in your area. Theres one in calgary called Bishop Carroll and basically how it works is you do school in packages at your own pace and check in once a week, then you do whatever you want the rest of the time. You can do all your school in the summer, and then ski in the winter, or finish school in a month if you can put in the effort. Thats what I want to do with a friend of mine next year, so I can ski alot and get the rest of the time off. Look into it, but make sure you have a few people on board with you to do it if you aren't doing a ski academy or whatever. It would suck if you were just going out skiing by yourself with no-one else. My mom finished high school early and said it was terrible because all her friends were still in school and she had nothing to do.

I go to a public school that has an athlete program which Im in. I can get away with missing school and I get to drop an elective to have a spare

I basically decided my education was more important than skiing so i stayed in atlanta for college. Basically go for free and get a really good education. Im sacrificing a lot of good skiing(even though last year, I skied the most I ever had) but I will make up for it with a year off ski bumming.

I go to a public school and ski every weekend, i got to skip school 1 day to ski and after school on the weekdays i just jib in the backyard and am always trying to get more time on my skis.

winter sports school ftw!

you go to school from mid april to mid november, get all winter off

its in park city, utah. If you're interested pm me and I'll answer more questions.

I know someone who did online, but that was only for a little while. I would suggest against it because it really doesn't look good for post-secondary.

However, if you're not intending to go to post-secondary anyways because you have some amazing plan in action already for after school, then feel free to do it.

I still think the best option is for you to do an independent studies school where you can work at your own pace. Only do that if you know for a fact that you can be extremely focused and get everything done, or you'll be finishing school in august, which is not fun.

i go to a private catholic school. ski every staurday and sometimes sunday. theres a local jib park by me so i hit that after school most days to.

i go the normal sept-june and during the ski season i try to miss as many days possible to ski and i go every day after school till around 7 finish all the work during class [:

i go to a public middle school and ski 4-5 days a week. get out early a lot and skip for a lot of days. i wish i didn't have to go at all and i could just ski but i wouldn't be very intelligent.

this past year i went to this gay private rich kid school, which sucked cause i didnt fit in at all with the preps and rich kids and the work was hella hard, but im going to a public school next year

and i can get out early everyday

i go to a private highschool in ct, and i get to ski a ton in the winter. i work as an instructor so i can have an excuse to go to the mountain every day after school. im currently a senior, and im considering going a year at a skiing boarding school in vermont before i start college. i really havent decided anything solid yet, but all i know is that whatever i do, i want it to involve skiing in some way.

Public school. get out at 2 pm. at the moutnain at 315 pm and home by 1130 that night. bout 3 days out of the week then saturdays and sundays

Dude, I know how you feel. I hate my school, but I don't think I'll get to leave. I'm trying to go to an independent studies school type thing, but I don't know if it will happen... I really don't like the kids at my school though. This is a seriously shitty situation to be in, and I envy you.

that sounds super nice, then i dont waste winter, adn i have filler for summer, to bad i dont live in utah, or some wear, were i could ski on the week days... :(

Public High School, Senior Year. I only get to ski on the weekends and breaks though cause my hill is 45mins away and only open on the weekends.

public school ski weekends and holidays most comps at bigwhite are on friday or saturday nights so its all good

going into 11th grade in public school...ski 4-5 weekdays becuase my mountian is open till 10pm and ski noon-9-10pm on saturday and sunday

going to be a junior at public school...

i go skiing about 2-3 days after school on weekdays, and both days on weekends. then if we get snow i just straight skip school. my parents don't mind as long as my grades stay up.

although i did get fined $85 last year when we got a midday DUMPING (for the east coast) my buddy texted me and asked me if i wanted to ski. i got up out of class and said "mr watkins, i'm fucking going skiing" and just walked out of school. apparently you aren't allowed to do that hahaha.
