new york catholic school Kellenberg Memorial Takes prom away from this years seniors due to the crazy "Prom Culture" you can read the story here: and please vote no at

Thanks

thats retarted....if kids want to waste their money on a big house in the hamptons let em, i know i would rather buy new ski equipment, but w/e. and the school people forceing them to cancel the rental? wtf are they gonna do suspend you for renting a house? hahahaha, that makes me laugh. then again they could not allow you to not go to prom, but hey, you'd still have a kick ass party house for afterwards.

who cares about voting? probably not the church. it's a private institution they can do what they want. considering the catholic church is very anti premarital sex and birth control, i could see why this highschool would have a problem with prom due to the stigma that surrounds it. and since when has the catholic religion been democratic?

Booze cruises, party houses in the hamptons? If parents don't care about spending 10,000 on a house for a party why don't they just have one at their own house. Your school is rediculous. Probably lots of fun though.

Personally I dont think the school has a right to cancel it due to non-school related events... if students want to spend money on pre adn post prom antics then let them... The school is not afflicated with it and have no control... We had similar problems with our prom with acohol comsumption pre prom and the rule became if you were too intoxicated you would be denied entry... but the rest of it was up to us.. and yes i did have to pay tution at my school and i still believe that that shouldnt change the opinion or powers of the school...

i got a mixed review of what is going on there... i think the principal is making a good point but in the wrong venue.

instead of cancelling it, why don't they just make people that seem drunk blow a breathalizer. they did that at my school, and it was suprisingly effective. they can also do some kind of after prom (which is totally lame, but that is not the point). My high school had practically a totally sober prom cause of these things. They even would make a video every year with some students pretending they died from drinking. Of course all of this did wreck prom to the point it was even worth going to more than once.

your school is a bunch of rich kids who dont need a house in the hamptons because you probably already have one. I voted yes.

Catholics are so funny. Prom is a celebration is responsible people keep an eye on the students, drinking too much will not be an issue

if ur school wont let u have a prom then just have a party on ur own, get every1 to pay what they need to, have fundraisers at ur school, andhire a dj and catering, and ur all set, itl work out better then a prom and ul get it exactly how u want it

i heard about that! a bunch of my friends go there they were pretty pissed. i heard they were just gonna move it to a sunday or the day before graduation, so kids would have to be around the next day.

Actually, after prom parties aren't bad, atleast at my high school they weren't. We had a band play one year, both years at the Movie theater and we just watched movies and ate food all night. I got a mean girls poster too.

I skipped both my Junior and Seinor proms because I hated my school Juinor year and was't even there my Seinor year. I'd never been to any parties with anyone from my school. Still haven't. Fuckers.

Anyway, I voted no. A party is a party, and prom should be a party. I hate the fact that there are these rich little fucks who HAVE $10,000 to blow on a party, but it's not my place to tell them what to do. Until they fuck with me.

wow this fucking sucks....my school.......chaminade high school...which is like kinda connected somehow to kellenberg......well.......our prom got cancelled today.....my hischool has no more fucking prom......shit

Well then, just start organizing your own somewhere private. Prom sucks, it's the graduation parties about a month later that matter.
