School Sucks Dick

thats a pretty ignorant view. take all sides into acount man some people dont go to college and work out fine. And for some people college just isnt the right choice

yeah school sucks but hey once its over you get college and at college you get to do whatever you want to do, until then sack up and deal with it

actualy it is very important math u learn in later years of high school...i mean wat if a mapquest in teh future is like turn right in the perfect square of 20 miles?

shit high school is good times for me. especially this semester, i have great classes, like my teachers, like everyone in my class. shit man, enjoy it while you can, cause i imagine being in the working world is a lot fuckin harder than being in high school or middle school or whatever grade you are in.

higher level math might feel completely useless, but one thing it does is teach you how to think in new ways. I will probably never use calculus or whatever in daily life but I might be smarter and more able to handle new and relevant ideas that come my way.

If you are in high school, you have it so fucking easy. I go to the Academy. That is fucking gay. Sack up.

pretty much everything you take is important.. the ability to formulate and idea and transfer that into an argument is soooo important in life.

Doesn't matter it you practice it while writing about history, world issues or what ever you will use it evey day of you life.

Math is also very important, I work with so many fucking dumb people who can't understand much past adding and subtracting. Take math all throughout highschool and take it in university or at least do stats.

or you could just be a fucking dump and jerk off at school and daydream about skiing.

school helps you mature in so many ways, and helps put a lot of things in perspective such as what kind of shit you like to do after your classes...I would only drop out of school for a special opportunity and not just because like so many...I hated a lot of school but you find diamonds in the rough such sick ass friends and what not. Go work at a walmart or staples and youll see the type of people who havent gone to college and what theyre doing with their lives, shit son why dont u just go to college, earn a business degree and open any type of store you want.

meh I liked high school but thats only because I had far more freedom since sophomore year. College is too much responsibilty, you can't fuck up your classes like in high school. Besides that its fun having my own apartment with the homies but I had that in high school as well so not much of a difference.

I hear this argument everytime someone questions the value of school, and it is not well thought out.

The human mind is designed to learn. You learn to walk, learn to speak a language, learn to eat, learn to swim, to reason, all well before you ever to to school so that they can "teach you to learn". Sure you learn SOME valuable things in school in 12 years, but how much of the important stuff could you really not have figured out on your own?

I learn so much more outside the classroom, I feel like I am wasting my time when I am sitting inside one, or memorizing various trivial facts for a test that the teacher makes no real attempt to apply to real life situation that I should be involved in in any way.

you need algebra for statistics, problem solving, etc. where would you be if you couldn't read and interpret a basic chart or graph? what if everyone graduated high school with only a grade 6 level of math, since any higher skill set in math is evidently unnecessary?

I never thought I would want to go into sciences until last semester, when my interest in science (psychology) was piqued even though I'm pretty bad at math and science.

the assumption that one will always stick to one area of study is not necessarily the right assumption.

You don't understand the age we're moving into. We're not going to be doing manual labor, we're going to operate machines that do manual labor. We're going to need computer specialists, engineers, things that require college. I will give you a perfect fucking example. My mom works and has worked at Little Tikes for 15 years, 15. My mom makes $15 an hour to do hard physical labor and only still has her job because shes been there so long. They are outsourcing jobs, #1, where we dont need nearly as much manual laborers. Have you looked at the fucking news lately? Everytime I open up a paper I see "Sprint Nextel to cut jobs". If you want a job anymore, you better hope you can out preform some chinese or mexican guy which requires college.

actually the only classes I'm forced to take are English, which isn't so bad cause its easy for me, but i ehar if you are actually in a program you are forced to take a bunch more courses. Visual arts shouldn't be too bad though.
