Judging by your post, I'll say your maturity level is low. Therefore, your simple mind cannot understand the power of knowledge, and you also cannot understand that school is important because IF you make it to college it will help you. Now look here, in college you will major in something which could be your future career, but then again you could not go to college at all. If you dont go to college, when you get looked at for job interviews and under your strengths you have "being a skibum" with no diploma youll never find a job. My guess here is that you plan on A. working at a hill for the rest of your life B. becoming pro C. are ignorant and stupid and in a couple years youll understand why school is important.
 
School isn't designed to help you learn.

It is designed to help mold you into a easily controlled, socially responsible, complicit employee.
 
Yeah incase you didn't know the government is actually controlling all of our lives with TV, school, work, computer, and the law in general.

especially when you get to college, they force you into so many bullshit classes that are completely useless but everybody is required to take them. Unless you are studying to be a doctor or in law school, you aren't learning much except what was just quoted.
 
actually thats not right at all. School teaches you how to learn. all the stupid bullshit that you have to know in high school doesnt really matter. just that you get through it. College/university just proves you arent an idiot.
 
Fuck school. I hate my school. I wish I was learning something useful. At least I'm a senior and college will be better. I'm smarter than 80% of the teachers at my school and 90% of the kids at my school are fucking douche bag retards.

haha. i dont know where you go to college but you should probably transfer if your school is making you do that. there are core requirements at most schools but usually there are about 5 million classes that can satisfy those so you should be able to find one that interests you.
 
actually the school I currently attend I'm pretty stoked on, but I was attending DU before, and the classes required to fulfill core requirements were so ridiculously useless I couldn't handle it, so I transfered. but many schools don't let you take most of the classes offered if you aren't in that specific major.
 
I'm just sick of all the immature and stupid kids. I'm assuing college will be slightly different?

Also I like to be challenged, my school does not do that. I'm just ready for a change. I'm not one of the kids who just hates school and learning I'm just ready to move on from my school.

i woulod have to say that u need to be happy ur in school at a young age..cuz when u get older school sucks. college is definately a tough challenge then after that u have to work. which isnt all that its made out to be. so stop bitchin and be happy u got an easy life.
 
low level classes that slower students are tracked into teach you to follow simple individual instructions.

higher level classes that smarter tracked students are put into teach you how to work better in teams and use creativity to solve problems.

there was this one teacher who won teacher of the year, supposedly one of the best teachers ever and he basically instead of giving an acceptance speach tore apart the school system.

it just sucks that if you are slightly slower in like 6th grade you get tought to work at a shitty job but if you do well in middle school you get trained essentially to work for a high paying corporate job.

i think his point was make skiing a priority while you still can. if you want to. because it will be harder to do later in life.
 
ya man but most of the classes we take are pointless. For the most part history will never be used, science possibly. But classes like english and math actually have a point in life.

schooling really depends on what you want to do in the future, but sense we are at such a young age to decide that, the gov just gets us to take the minimum in every aspect.
 
A wise man once said "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

We go to school to learn many things, more important things maybe than actual material. We learn social skills, we make friends, imagine for one second that you've never been to school in your life, you would have no friends and your social skills would be down the shitter. We learn these things young, we learn how to talk to people, we learn how to work with people. I'M SURE you're thinking "dude I'd make so many friends on the hill", but in reality you'd be too shy and too stupid to go up to somebody and introduce yourself. Also, thanks to school I've personally met 8 great friends who are a hell of a bunch of guys to get fucking shitfaced with, and I've also met plenty of young tang.

 
can i get an invite to that?btw that comment was completely true. school is made as a cookie cutter process to mold cubicle bodies, which is why i refuse to ever work in an office
 
Which is why they make you take art and music and foreign language and feed you "you can be anything you want to be" throughout school. Why are people on NS so fucking stupid, damn. If they wanted you in a cubicle chances are they'd put you in cubicles in school, have a stack of paperwork on your desk and probably add in a faulty fax machine just for shits and giggles.
 
they just replace the cubicles with a desk, and bingo..... I don't learn anything important in school. I havn't since like grade 6, math is important until you get to 5th grade when you can add, multiply, and divide with ease. When have you ever used geo or algebra in normal life? Science, is and always will be pointless unless your looking to go into a scientific field and english is just writing papers, I don't learn anything useful right now that will help me later in life
 
Now this kid here , he thought he was real cool, but he came on newschoolers, acting like a fool, hes got too remember to stay in school, cause if not he be real dumb sitting on the street palying the drums.

high school is all about colleges seeing what your ability to learn is like. colleges want a kid that can take stuff in easily.
 
John Taylor Gadau, he one like New York or American teacher of the year and he stood up infront of the school board and he talked about how shitty the schools are.
 
School sucks until you find your passion. High school helps you get a base in everything, so you can build on it later. I havent discovered this until I got into marine engineering.

I did a semester away in Maine and learned soo much about stuff that matters and i actually really liked learning. Now Im a senior back at my public high school and the difference is so clear to me. Its all about what your school is like really
 
No, I'll use a tape measurer ass hat.... when am I ever going to need to prove a triangle is equilateral or prove a shape is a rhombus....
 
schools are basicially drudgery factories

they want to teach you how to do the same exact thing over and over again...

but you can actually learn some really cool stuff... like in english class i read some really interesting thought provoking stuff, and gym is fun... i also really liked geography...

yeah i dunno, its supposed to be good for you.
 
Let me just clarify, a basic knowledge in many areas such as math and english and things like that are important, but in high school learning how to prove a rhombus or a square is completely pointless, chemistry ill never use EVER, because I dont want to be a chemist. English hasn't taught me anything in a long while, and don't penalize me for spelling or use some other stupid excuse for trying to justify english. Economy is one class I'll give you that is helpful, it shows you how things work, government is kind of good even though it is completely sugar coated while being taught, History is important, its always good to be knowledgeable about past events. But I'd bet that many if not all of you have learned a lot of things that will never be used outside of a classroom
 
I learn shit I don't have to but I don't really care, school is all good times, meet people, party and have a good time, your young once (unless your Hindu and you believe in reincarnation)
