im trying to plan a ski trip with my school for next year. i was thinking that we could go to whistler, switzerland, or austria. i need to figure out which one would be the cheapest. what do people think? which would be cheapest and the most fun?

whistler...wait next year the onlympic's are gonna be there so expect mad expense...then just go for summit county and ski breck keystone beav creek winter park and copper

dude it depends on what you see as "fun" and where are you from..? that affects the price big big time with flights etc...

im from massachusetts, and fun doesnt involve getting shitfaced unfortunately, im in highschool and the chaperones are teachers. but a good ski town is definitely important.

go to europe then, experience something new...of course whistler is sick, but the whole euro ski scene is just so fucking awesome

i went on a exchange program to switzerland with my school for 2.5 weeks in 8th grade. im in 10th now. but damn it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. nothing like the swiss alps. Cranz Monata was the mountain i think..

i did two highschool ski trips to europe, one to chamonix one to interlaken. I highly suggest Europe. Shitload of fun, you get to experience some new culture and you can party fairly easily. Chamonix was amazing, if you can make it there, go there. The town itself was a lot of fun and there were so many resorts to choose from.

whistler will be awesome, just dont plan it during the olympics, because it will be packed, but overall, during the olympic year the olympic resort has less people than normal... they are expecting to lose money because people are afraid of the price, when in reality there is less people because every thinks there is going to be more.

sorry if that was confusing, lol... basically, go for whistler, just not DURING the olympics

Europe sounds like a better experience, but whistler is sick too. But what you have to look at is the conversion rate from the USD compared to the Euro and the Canadian dollar. That will give you prices. As for experience, I think Europe for sure.

thats gay, your going to have to pay for your teachers to go too, my ski trip is like that, just make a road trip with your freinds that shred! yeahhhhh ^posts plus one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well if cost is a big issue im sure hitting up some larger east coast resorts like sunday river would still guarantee a good time. however going to europe would be amazing but it would definitely be the most expensive. i would say whistler would be your best bet. also right now the exchange rate is favouring americans so thats would be another plus for you ! and staying in the village would keep the trip simple because you would have alll you need in the village, which cuts travel costs while you are at your destination. and did i mention whislter is the best place ON EARTH!?

my school has done trips to davos in switzerland before and i talked to my principal about it and shes cool with me planning it. i was thinking we might rent a house in summit county and hit the mountains there if europe is too expensive. if whistler is cheap next year with the olympics and all i would definitely do that.

Go to switzerland...there are a lot of cheap places to say there and the Swiss Alps are amazing. Plus flying to europe prolly will be close in price to flying to whistler. Plus who won't wanna go to europe(drinking age is 16) so you can tell your chaparones to fuck off cause it is legal. haha. If you are looking for cheapness look at maybe renting an old army barracks or staying at a youth hostel. Plus lift tickets are usually cheaper in switzerland than out at whistler. There a good resorts that have tickets for about 40 bucks and that is without group rates or multiple day rates. Also if do go to switzerland you can ask me practically anything cause i am from there.

Well if you cant make it to one of those three Id sugest that (since from MA) you go to smugglers notch VT we (school) went there last year and it was the best possible school trip. They have a SICK mtn for the east it has definetly some of the hardest terrain anywhere. and after the lifts go off there are always "teen dances" which turns out to be a volleyball game and a place to take a detour to a snow bunnies condo. there village is kinda small but it a sick atmosphere people just have their condos opened up having mini parties its the illest.... actually did less skiing than I planned due to just chillen with random people in the same situation
