School ski project

yo i didnt no if i should of put this in ski grabber or not, but ohh well. im doing a chemisty project on the process of making snow. if anyone could give me some pointers on the histroy of the snow guns and how the process works, and any cool things aobut the histoy of ski resorts, that would be awesome. i would deeply appraciate it.

im not a dumbfuck, i have done some research, i didnt think it was a bad idea to get some inputs from other ppl, considering this is a ski network haha?

good point. Sorry for being an ass...

the chemistry of snowmaking is fairly simple: the nozzles and high pressured air split the water into really really tiny particles that freeze into crystals of snow as they fall to the earth. That's about it.

As far as the history... the February, 2007 issue of SKI Magazine had a very detailed article regarding the origins and evolution of snowmaking. See if you can find a copy.

I think there's more to it then that. They put (I think) silver nitrate in the water to create a seed for the water to bond to.

This is just what I've heard, I think it's a little more complex then pressurized air and water vapor...
