I just got this e-mail. What are your guys's experiances with school ski clubs?



If you are interested in being part of a Ski/Snowboard Club please email me or sign up in the guidance office. We plan to have a meeting in the near future.

MIne was pretty lame. Basically just full of posers and weekend warriors that did not know the first thing about skiing. All the kids who actually skied or snowboarded did not join due to shitty officers. They only had like 3 activities, and all of which were pretty lame. They had an opening social. They then were going to show the Warren Miller movie after school, but thankfully my friend begged them to show real time, only 10 people went though. They then topped it off with a ski day that wasn't even advertised.
 
Usually if your the best in your school its really fun just to show everyone up, and yess there are many posers
 
I should also mention that the girl who organized the club only did it so that she could say she formed and was the president of a club for her college transcript. So she wasn't that into it which made it really shitty.
If your officers are really into it. I guess it could be kinda cool.
 
i started ski club at my school, it was legit, i actually found a few kids to ride with that i never knew about, one snowboarded and the other skiied. i was cool with them in school but never knew they rode. so it could be a good thing.
 
The first time at ski club which was my first time on skis my friends convinced me to go down a blue square where a race was being held. At this time only knowing the pizza method of stopping I gentle picked up more speed racing though a race faster than the kid going and eventaully going threw a fence and hitting a women in the face with one ski a pole and my fist. nobody got hurt cause the lady came off a lift and was wearing a helmet. I just about died and my days of skiing almost ended there as i had to beg for the mountain not to revoke my pass funny story
