School ski club going to Warren Miller premiere

So basically I just got an email from the head of the ski club at my college, I go to Fairfield University in CT. So it was about like season passes and stuff, but at the end she said that the members of the ski club could have the oppurtunity to go to the Warren Miller movie premiere. Obviously as a member of the newschoolers community I said to myself, "Fuck that."
So I decided to take action and inform her abou the lawsuit that WME filed against Level 1 because she had to know. So I sent her this email:
Hey Kate,
My names Matt Deane and I am planning on getting all of the season passes but that is not why im sending you this. You said in your email that people had the opportunity to go to the Warren Miller movie premiere. I dont know if you have heard about the ridiculous lawsuit that Warren Miller Entertainment has filed against Level 1 Productions, but I will send you a link right now so you can see it. So basically "The" Warren Miller, the father of skiing cinematography is no longer involved with Warren Miller Entertainment, so this year he collaborated with Level 1 productions in their new movie Refresh. Level 1 is at the forefront of ski production companies and year after year they put out amazing movies, and Refresh is no exception. Warren Miller narrated the movie, which is a story of Level 1's ten years of making movies. However, Warren Miller's involvement in this movie has come under fire by WME. Now WME has been out of the loop in the ski community for years now. They buy their film from other companies and they are basically only run to make money, they dont even film their own movies. WME filed a lawsuit against Level 1 saying that the viewers of Refresh may be mislead by Warren Millers involvement making them think they were viewing a Warren Miller movie. This is ludicrous because Level 1's movies are of a far better quality than those of WME. The entire ski community has decided to boycott WME because of their lawsuit, and even Warren Miller himself, who has not been involved with WME for 6 years now, has decided to place himself in the lawsuit as a third party defending Level 1. You can read more about this story onfreeskier.com, or here: https://www.newschoolers.com/web/content/news/news_id/2856/
I would suggest going to the Meathead Films premiers in Connecticut, The Meatheads are an all east coast film productions company and they put out amazing east coast movies every year. You can find more information about their film tour onmeatheadfilms.com. Thanks so much, hopefully you take this into consideration. Cant wait for the ski season!!

Just wanted to see what everyone thought about the email, I think it is a polite way to say "Fuck that, dont go to the Warren Miller premiere" Ill check back when I get a return email to say what happened. Hopefully this works, support Level 1!!!

dude i just went to my first ski snowboard club meeting and they had signups for the warren miller event. i was like wtf dont support that. but i couldnt say much more cuz i wanted to get the clubs email list so i could get together a group to do weekly trips to mount snow.

nice call man, i run the ski club at uconn and someone asked me if we were hosting a warren miller premiere like we used to in the past. i didn't really inform them of all the details but there's no way i'll ever let my club support warren miller entertainment again. o and if you're looking to do a ct meathead premiere definitely come to the one in glastonbury, always packed and a great time

yea, everyone's mad at wme, and it would have been their big 60th. bummer. but they totally diserve it, they fucked up big time.

There's no ski club at my school, but me, a teacher who skis a bundle, a friend who skis, and some other people I have never met who also ski (didn't know about them till today) were chilling in the teacher's room at lunch, watching my freshly arrived copy of EDIAS. It's pretty chill.

Nice letter, you got your point across without sounding like an angry 13 year old. Let us know what the club decides, things like this will have a big impact on WME I'm sure

nice job. you wil have a good chance at being heard just because it was well written. and i like the idea of seeing a Meatheads film.

I heard back from Colorado Tourism today with a BS answer.....

Thank you so much for contacting the Colorado

Tourism Office regarding your concerns.

The Colorado Tourism Office has entered into a

partnership with Warren Miller Entertainment this winter with the sole objective

of promoting Colorado's ski product to a larger audience. Our partnership with

Warren Miller Entertainment in no way endorses or supports any litigation that

the company has initiated. Similarly, any views expressed or actions taken by Warren Miller

Entertainment are those of the company and not necessarily those of the Colorado

Tourism Office.

We appreciate your feedback.

I had written....

To whom it may concern, My name is Miller Adair and I am an avid skier and fan

of action sports in general. As an engineer at Texas Instruments with an MSEE

and an MBA, I spend many dollars inside the industry and with its sponsors. I

was shocked to learn that Warren Miller Entertainment has issued a lawsuit

against Level 1 Productions regarding the legitimate use of Warren Miller’s

voice in their newest film, Refresh. In today’s world, frivolous lawsuits

dominate and destroy our legal system. I feel that this lawsuit against Level 1

for including the man, Warren Miller in their movies falls into this category.

As a result of this lawsuit, I will be actively boycotting Colorado travel until

this lawsuit has been dropped. I just cashed in 50,000 American Airlines miles

to Utah Jan 11th-15th as a result of this injustice. As a resident of Texas I

must travel to ski and Colorado is usually our first choice. Thanks for your

time and I appreciate any action you can take.
