well we have more important things to do such as protect our kids from seing naked bodies oooouuuuhhh. I mean we have horendous things happening here that are more severe than guns such as people seing a pop singers breast for half a second.

first of call, guns don't kill people, People kill people. Gun control also might not be a factor. The news said that the kids grandfather was a decorated cop. What if the kid just stole it from his grandpa??? How do u control that. Maybe its someones fault in his family that it wasn't locked up. School shootings aren't just the fault of the federal gonvernment, or anyone one thing. Its the fault of the kid for being such an ignorant bastard and not dealing with his problems the right way, its the fault of anybody who knew he was this fucked up and failed to help him, and its the fault of our society as a whole for accepting violence as some sort of comedy and exposing it to people it shouldn't be exposed to.

im sorry the families had to go through this, because almost every school shooting can be prevented

What else would have have been able to kill so many people with so quickly? His fists? a metal crowbar? a stick with some nails in it? no. Guns are designed for killing and thats why people use them so effectivly to kill numerous people at once.

how could tighter gun control have prevented him from stealing a gun from his grandfather? well tighter gun control means that to own guns you have to keep them locked up. Maybe if they were locked he wouldnt have been able to get at them at all. I know that i cant get at my dad's guns, because they are locked away in the basement. Not only that, but the amunition is locked in a seperate strong box in an entirly diffrent part of the house. So even if i had the guns, i wouldnt have anything to shoot out of them because i cant walk into the corner store and pick up a bag of chips, a coke and a box of bullets.

his grandpa may have been a decorated cop. But that didnt stop the kid from killing him, or his grandmother on his way to school. I dont care how fucked up your life has been... you dont go shooting people because of it, espicaly not your grandparents.

im not saying guns aren't ment for kill. For police purposes and hunting and shit they are. IM not saying that he was right in what he did. How are we spose to insure that all guns are locked up? Are you going to go door to door and check that every gun in every owners house is locked up? My uncle and aunt work at bushmaster firearms in Auburn maine, and they do extensive backgorund checks and followups with all gun owners, insuring as much as humanly possible that guns don't get into the wrong hands. All im saying is this could have been prevented, but gun control is by no means the only way it could have been stopped

i never said i have answers, but surely someone must have sensed that this kid was getting pretty pissed about something. Lay off man, im just stating an opinion. Your entitled to your own opinion too. Im just saying that maybe when teachers and other students, or his parents or grandparents realized that he was cutting classes for what, the past 3 weeks, that maybe they would have gotten the kid some help. He was clearly fucked up. I just don't see how much more we can control gun. Maybe manditory gun checks every month or something, i dunno. Manditiory purchases or a gun safe if you have so many firearms. But realisticly, how much more could we do? May be thiers something im not seeing

yes, you can. Because if im mad at someone and i dont have a gun, it makes it alot harder for me to kill them. If i was using a baseball bat, their changes of survival is much higher, even if i do beat them to a pulp.

I think no one should have a gun in a private residence. For hunting, you should have to go to a special place and rent a gun out for a few days. Police and army have guns kept at their base of operations and get them when they go on duty. This would result in guns beign extremely hard to come by and use for bad purposes. You can argue that illegal firearms will still be around, but it is legal firearms that have been the cause of all these highschool murders and many other accidents. I don't care if the bloods and crypts have illegal guns and are killing each other off, that is actually better. It is the innocents I care about.
