Our school newspaper comes out this wednesday (I'm a senior) and I have been told by a few friends that one kid has published an article completely calling out and ripping on tall clothing, baggy clothing, bagged hats, and everything directly related to skiing. I have sold tall hoodie I make to a bunch of kids at school and I have been told a few kids who wear them "Can't rock them" and that mentioned in the article. I will have further information on the article when it is officially published.

What

comp is stupid

What I want to do is make an editorial, and I do not want to stoop to this kids level. I would like to ask the Skiing community for imput towards the editorial, maybe some quotes or anything you would like to say. Like I said I will post the article wednesday.

just get a farmer to kill his parents, chop them up, put them in chilli, and then feed the kid his parents at your 1st annual Chilli Con Carnival.

who cares, it's a high school paper. this ridiculous clothing style is just a trend. it'll pass.

Don't stoop to his level.
Go above and beyond!!!
DESTROY EVERYTHING HE OWNS!!!!
whatever you do though don't try to be all scientific about it. bottom line clothing is a choice. You should wear what you want, and that they should be relatively flattering on the wearer. But I could honestly care less I like tight pants and tall hoodies together, and no one gives me shit about it. If anything being unique gives you something to talk about Chances are, the kid just doesn't like YOU... if you are going to pursue revenge in a less drastic way than I suggested do it with class and modesty. Just say you refuse to give a response because clothing is a personal choice and you are obviously more comfortable with the one you've made than the writer of the article who is clearly intolerant of diversity.

i'm sure which is worse, the fact that some kid decided to write about someone's style or the fact that you actually care.

seriously, why would you let it bother you since all he's trying to do is get a rise out of people that dress like that.

Tell that mutherfucker some knowledge straight from general shredgnar.
Every article of clothing that anyone puts any sort of thought in choosing and wearing incorporates two components; a personal choice based on intrinsic evaluation of it's appearance, and a consideration of both what popular culture dictates looks good, and the choice of people you look up to for coolness. Denying the value in any single branch of popular culture in denying all of it. You might as well throw out all the Killers and Citizen Cope CDs that higher browed poser journalist listens to and assumes the meaning of. Skiing clothing is misunderstood by the general population. The choice of clothing does indeed have utility and meaning:
Tall Ts and tall clothing is a mirror off-hill image of what skiers, and fucking snowboarders, wear on the hill. The reason for wearing such clothing is not only because of comfort, but also because of it's metaphorical significance for the sport itself. It's an indirect indication of what we do. Baggy clothing on the hill has been chosen to mask the more awkward movements of the body during aerial and rail maneuvers, thus having practical and chosen aesthetic value, and generally speaking the more material you have to wear, the warmer you are. The extra length additionally keeps snow from ripping your back and ass apart, which many of us know, is one of the easiest ways of destroying yourself after a simple fall on a kicker. These styles are also, like any other style, dictated by the individuals who lead the cultural movement. In this regard, surely many kids out there take no consideration in their dress and ignorantly grab whatever attire they see is popular. But skier kids are no different from anyone else. At least their choice has some sort of significance; It's certainly more meaningful than baggy clothing within hip hop, which is derived from the inability to procure a belt in prison. So no, freestyle skiers are not trying to be black, nor does their choice in clothing have no use. Tell that bitch ass to throw his cheap monday pants and shitty old navy cardigan in a bonfire, because he too, like the rest of us, directly or indirectly fund some sort of shit show that is fashion.
(I'd go into the musical influence upon skiing but I'll save it for another time, finals n shit.)

And there's also significance in the fact that skiing is more a lifestyle than an activity, but again time is limited. Someone else should definitely elaborate on those two points.

dude, it's a highschool newspaper. why even bother wasting any time thinking about it? who's really going to remember something they read instead of doing math homework in study hall? no one.

take it from someone who knows a lot about the newspaper business, the best thing you can do is ignore it and everything will go away in a day or two.

why don't you kids stop trying to dress like immature pricks, and adopt a sartorial image that not only reflects your culture as caucasian Americans but also wont make people think you look like a High schooled faggot.

so wait wait, hes making fun of you for dressing up like a gigantic multiflavored marshmallow troll? and youre mad? i dont get it.

personally, in response to this school newspaper article, i would start going to school dressed absolutely ridiculously, like 14XL tall teels, 12XL hoodies, the biggest pants i could possibly find, sagged down to basically my ankles (low enough to see the belt under the 14xl tall tee) all of it in the brightest fucking colors possible. with goggles. and poles. just to show this kid that making him displeased makes you feel good inside.

or write an article for the newspaper trashing whatever the author dresses like.

or fucking kill him. and bury him in a tall tee.

and post the article on NS when you get it.

Where are you from? I don't wear tall tees but I'm sure that almost no one that went to my high school would've had any idea that tall and baggy clothing is from skiing (at least in this case).

There are some kids who think they're ALWAYS skiing or something...like rocking out of control baggy sagging jeans and HUGE hoodies and other unnecessary socially unacceptable accessories. I'm not sure if they like being smirked at walking to class or if they enjoy not getting laid but whatever floats your boat.

hey at least you photot wernt in the paper- they did an editorial about pants bagging last year when i was a senior- and they put all of our photos with baggy pants on in it-

What is even WORSE, is that it ellicited a bunch of responses from kids on NS who are actually too insecure to wear what they want and not care about the opinions of others. If you really thought it was awesome and were totally confident wouldn't you just say "ahh, too bad for him, he is missing out on some sweet style. "

i personally dont wear tall ts, mostly cause i dont buy clothes, but i do like my sweatshirts to cover my ass... but seriously dude, fashion holds no race, and i dont know why you think sayin shit like this to a bunch of high school KIDS is gonna influence them... fashion is also a form of rebellion, parents and elders think they look stupid so they make em longer... you were probably a kid once, right? you never did silly things like that? and plus, if wearing tall ts makes these kids feel good then who fickin cares... and for you kids, do whatever makes u feel happy and dont worry about what some friendless terd from a school newspaper says about u... he's probably the same faggot that stays home every night cause he wants to be 8 months ahead of everyone else. when you're older you'll look back and probably say, i cant believe i actually wore that, you'll laugh about it but it'll make you who u are... just do you, fuck everyone else

when one wears tall tees and baggy pants and makes hyphy edits, the only logical explanation is that one is appropriating urban/black style. let me break it down for you: you're fucking fooling yourself.
