Saying "I love you"

So when I'm talking to a girl that I really like I kinda feel like i want to say something different than bye then could I say "I love you" just to show that I really care about her? I was talking to a girl at school and she said that she says I love you to her boyfriend when shes gets off the phone and stuff not that she really believes she loves him, just that she wants him to know that she cares about him (she likes him as a boyfriend but its not like you're gonna get off the ohone and be like "bye i like you"), could I say "i love you" to a girl and she would know what I'm talking about? What else could I say?
 
I think dont say I love you unless you really mean it but u can always end a conversation with i want to fuck you then she'll get the message that you care about her

my ex said i love you all the time and i thought iloved him but i was like 17 and 18 and didnt know wtf i was talking about.
 
yea dude.. stay away from using love unles its reallllllly serious. I only say I love you to either my family, or.. umm.. thats pretty much it. I haven't had a serious girlfriend worthy of it yet.

don't just strait up say i love you seriously, like yeah if your friends and you say i love you it's one thing and depends on the level of friendship you have and how you say it.. idk different girls react differently, i have guy friends that i say i love you to, only because we have known eachother for a while nad we are really great friends

its hilarious hahahaha. but yeah i would stay away from it. it just causes problems, but i say it to my g/f and i doubt i'm serious, i think its because i said it once and then shes tricking me into thinking i have to say it now or i'm pissed at her.
 
I like how they say it in The Stranger the girl says she loves him and asks if he loves her. Then he says that he doesnt think it matters but he doesnt.
 
Definitely do not say I love you unless you really mean it, because girls tend to put a lot of meaning to those words. It doesn't translate to "I care about you" for most girls, it usually means more like "You are the only one for me and I can't stand to be without you and I could see myself with you forever and ever..." you get the idea. Be careful with that phrase.
 
^yea i messed up and told my ex I loved her, that made the break up, which will happen most likely, a pain in the ass and basically hell for both of us.
 
Some people like it, I don't know why this is, but I think of those words as the epitome of the high school relationship. 99.9% of the time the people don't actually mean it, so by saying "I love you" you are essentially lying to your girl/boyfriend. That's just my take on it though, maybe there are some people here who aren't as pessimistic.
 
dont say it. idk but round these parts i love you is some serious shit not to be taken lightly. even if she says it and you dont want to be stuck in a relationship for the next 3 years just dont say it back. she knows whats up then. say bye like a normal person. i used it to much on a cheating whore so i refuse to say it unless im dead serious
 
only sya it if youve been dating for a while, and you want to get laid. i tihkn she would react by giving you a present. aka a bj or sex. but only if your in a long term
 
I AGREEE COMPLETELY. COMPLETELY. Same thing just happened to me, except it was less then 1.5 years....but regardless I genuinely loved her.
 
it's totally appropriate to express your love to your friends, but if it's a girl you're seeing and you've never established how much you care about eachother and said i love you, even if that's just in a platonic sense. then don't fucking say it! not to mention its just the phone if they are having a bad day or you are having a seriously talk be like hey you mean a lot to me and i really hope you know that. i think people are too tense about the word love. i tell my friends i love them all the time, i do and just because we don't want to get married and or have sex doesn't mean i shouldn't express that. but if you are dating, DO NOT say it if you don't mean it. and if you really are in love with someone, there's no doubt or second thought about it.
 
Man last girl I was with, I said I love you. She takes it so serious. Mind you she wrote it all over everything typed it i nmy phone my computer everywhere. But I cant say it ONCE!!!!???? lol fookin bitchessss
 
uhh dont unless you really mean it and you know (or at least have a good idea) that your close enough that she loves you too. i ve said it to two girls ever and both times ive meant it, although only one was a girlfriend, the other is like my best friend so thats different.

yeah say it if you mean it... thats assuming you know what being in love actually is although i guess you never know, it jsut happens
 
Don't say it if you need to ask NS if you should or not. Just don't. You'll fuck it up hard, and get yourself into a whole new situation of suck. If you actually do end up "loving" her...the time will be right, and you'll know your shit twice over...

ive never pulled it out. i usually go for the "see ya babe" or some such. but if they say i love you, the only real option is a "you too." thanks kinda doesnt cut it,
