Saying goodbye

I am probably going to be called emo, or hated in some way for this thread, but today i had the most emotional day in years. Today was the last day for the summer camp i was counsilling at, and so it was obviously going to be emotional. The time finally came to say goodbye, and i couldnt say goodbye to this one counsiller named "sox". he was like my best friend and he was 6 years older than me (21). he was the raddest person id ever met, and we had such good times together. we had these sweet dance parties, and stayed up all night painting graphics on the bottom of these 20 skimboards we made. he took me under his wing, and made me feel so good about myself. I came up to him and i didnt say anything, i just gave him a big hug, and shook his hand. i felt so embarrased but i cried. I hate it when you get attatched to someone and then they leave your life. it was so hard. Sorry for sounding like a dashboard song, but im pretty upset.

nah dude - it's good to have those experiences - i was a camp couselor for a long time and still run into kids i had as campers who had an awesome time and it's nice hearing that you can make a difference in someone's life just by being a chill person.

and don't worry about the assholes that'll give you shit for this, they haven't been fortunate enough to have something as dope as that.

nah i totaly understand. i just moved. that was alot of goodbyes. alot of my guy and girl friends cried. it was insane. i miss all of them so much.

sounds fun man, i had a simular experience, but this was my grandfather, he asked to be taken off the machines keeping him alive so he could just die peacefully, so he had the whole family come in so he could say one last goodbye forever, then we all watched him pass away....it was fucked up.

anyway, sry bout ur camp closing down. summer camp is awesome and u can have loads of fun and stuff, great memories and all that.

Yeah those kind of experiences are good for you for growing as a person. But one of my friends went to a summer school and bitched about it the whole time and when he left (this was a few weeks ago, and he's still doing this) he was all sad and depressed. We just made fun of him.

 
I've deffinatly gone through something like that, and yes its horrible to say good bye.
