everything down there is sick....you dont get the mega resorts like up here, but instead everything is club fields, which means you get a few lifts and dank, dank terrain...go to Treble Cone, which has some ridiculous in-bounds lines, or go to snowpark.nz which is similar to Bear Mtn- nothing but perfect jibs and jumps all over the place. Pep Fejus summered down there last season and said it was the greatest thing on earth, so if youre fortunate to go, I'd say do it.

im from nz too and id say you all should stay in q town as it is nz's adventure capital with heaps more than just skiing although that is all what we want to do

 
i am charging down almost for sure. what is the cheapeast/easiest way to get from queenstown to snowpark and other surrounding mountains?

 
i was down there like 5 years ago with my family. My dad had business in auckland then we went to the southern island for a few days after. I Skied on the 4th of July. It was cool. Wish I was older and a better skier though, could have been more fun. That and we had to rent skis and jackets and stuff cause we werent planning on skiing when we went there.

queenstown is gay its all touristy and shit if youknow what i mean. wanaka is where you wanna be. US exchange rate with NZD is pretty high at the moment its like .74 cents US for 1 nzd it used to be like .40 cents US for 1 nzd but still gonna be a bargain coming skiing here for you compared to whistler or hood or some shit i think but mind you its a big ass airfare but you ski winter snow not summer snow so i dunno?!

Unfourtunatly I have started working this year so will only be skiing weekends. But every weekend I will be up the canturbury club fields with me skins, tranciever, and hunting out some nice exposed lines.

The catlins which is about 3.5 hours drive from queenstown / wanaka is pretty savage. All the coast lines have surf though. It will be cold as ice though. you will need a good wet suit.
