Saw Hunting Yeti last night

And was pretty disappointed. Very short, very amateur filming, some of the skiing was cool, but nothing I hadn't already seen in the "webisodes." Kind frustrating since I already ordered the DVD, then found out there was a premiere happening two days later. Probably gonna end up selling the DVD when it shows up. Anybody else seen it yet?

yeah. it definitely lacked the "wow". i liked the soundtrack though. very different. and the ski bowl night seggy was still dope. but overall, just watch the webisodes

That was my first impression, but after watching it a few times i love it. When you get the dvd try watching it again and it could be a lot better than you thought

I'm going to have to disagree. I saw last night for the first time too and I loved it. I never get tired of the Nimbus style. Having seen a lot of the shots in the webisodes didn't take anything away form it, imo. Personally I liked it more than Idea.

i completely agree. After pollards work on Idea last year, i had high hopes for this. Such a disappointment.

I have not seen hunting yeti, nor to i want to see it, idea was bad as is, as much as i respect these skiers styles and what they are doing, i just cant watch the same repetitive shit over and over, bangers make a movie, sure u can have a few style shots but when its all the same thing, u get bored

I would have to agree with the general overall response to this thread. FIrst off I thought and will always think that Idea was AMAZING but was unable to find the same stoke factor in Hunting Yeti. To be sure there are some incredible shots and overall it's a "feel good" kind of film but it's incredibly short and very noticibly lacking the general flow of Idea and is certainly lacking in terms of shit your pants, did that just happen shots.

I didnt really see much of hunting yeti, but the comments dont really surprise me, having a skier run, skier shot, skier edited film doesnt really add to a professional film, but for me the feel good atmosphere is all I need to convince me to buy this movie~

If you are watching the Nimbus movies for bangers than you seriously have no idea what Andy, Pep, and Pollard are about.

i think people are (or at least i was) just disappointed in the fact that its basically just an hour and a half worth of webisodes chopped down to half an hour of the same footage.

wow... idea was the dopest movie of last year. thats ridiculous
and hunting yeti was sick, not as good as idea, but still sick
having the webisodes was a good idea but it sorta took away from the hype of watching a new movie

was still prty fuckin legit

Yes, but having to watch a movie through the internet sucks. I'm sure there are others who agree with me. the footage is small, compressed, and divided into segments.

To many people, there is a sentimental value to having a hard copy of a movie that you can watch in much better quality on a TV, and most importantly, not in flash.

you're entitle to your opinion and what you took away from the film but yeah, all those other skier run company's FREE webisodes every few months last year documenting what skiing was when there was no new footage from any other companies were cool too. oh wait..

I agree fully with everything you said, particularly about the sentimental value of having a hard copy I can watch on TV. For that very reason I have a very extensive and INCREDIBLY expensive movie collection that goes far beyond my current earning power as basic needs such as shoes without holes I can see daylight through routinely go by the wayside. That being said I must go back to my initial assesment of the movie, "feel-good" yes but something of a letdown insofar as my expectations on the whole.
