just wondering how many people got them back today/what people on NS get. I almost shit my pants when i saw 2300 under my name. fuck yeah.
 
just interested, not trying to show off. i was considering not posting mine because i didn't want it to look like im just trying to say "HEY LOOK HOW COOL I AM AT BEING GOOD AT AN UNFAIR TEST!", but then thought that in a thread asking people what they got i should be courteous enough to post my own.
 
yea well obviously youre smart and congrats thats an awesome score. when i was in high school people told me SATs didnt mean a thing but i didnt really believe them. well i just finished my first year of college and i totally agree now. I only got a 1260 (old score) which isnt aweful but by no means real good. i got into a really competative school and i have 5 really good friends here who all scored between 1380 and 1500 on their SATs in high school and i have the highest GPA out of all of them and we take the exact same classes. just dont let a really great score convince you will do really well in school even if you dont study and also dont think you cant handle a tough college if you only get mediocre scores. its all about how much work you put in.

I'm sorry this turned into a lecture.
 
I too got a 2300. It wasn't even difficult. If you can read quickly and think logically, you'll do well.
 
the thing about SATs are: a high score doesn't always mean you will do well in college (although you will most likely get into a good one if you have the other credentials to back it up), while a lower score doesn't mean you wont get into a good school or aren't as intelligent. most peope who score high are indeed very intelligent, but this can be true of people who score much lower too. but yeah congrats on that, thats a really good score man!
 
well i took them in mark and i was still drunk then moved into hungover, so i fucked up i got 550 straight across, a kid i was out with the night before, same condition as me got 1580 out of 1600 and a 23 something overall, that made me really mad, but i take them in a week and i dont plan on drinking the night before so...

 
haha wen i took tha psats this kid was super hungover/ still a little drunk so liike afftert the first section he just peaced out
 
out of 1600 i got a 1280, awkward because like the one kid said, i have the highest gpa in my class with like overall highschool being 3.94 and my junior year so far being around 3.98 or 3.99 . Ive gotten 5's on all my AP tests and stuff. What hurts me on the SAT is time. I take forever to answer questions, especially math which i am good at but take my time. Hopefully my ACT would be alot higher.
 
yeah it pisses me off that i fucked myself over on my first shot, my psats predict me to do dirty, but i screwed myself, all my friends who i know i can do better than raped me, one of my friends, not that bright, got a 740 reading, 650 verbal, and 690 or something math, ugh i feel so dumb
 
I live in Canada eh? so I was wonderin' if it would be worth my while to take the SATs in september or w/e the second time around...?
 
1950, I was surprised that I did best on the reading. I am really good at math but all the math was stuff I did in 7th grade so I couldn't remember how to do a few of the problems. Writing I sucked. Thats what killed me. My essay got cut off in mid-sentence cause I completely didn't pace myself right and thought I had more time than I did.
 
I only got about 1/2 way through my essay. I was pissed. I was out late the night before so not really thinking and it was the first section. I didn't do great on anything else either. I also got a 68 on my chem regents. I've never gotten below an 85 on a regents. Atleast I'm a senior now.
 
success in college requires 0% intelligence and 100% effort. So if you're one of those kids that slacks in highschool but still skates through by doing well on tests even though you don't study, unfortunately you're probly going to get your ass handed to you in college.
 
2300 is sick dude!!

i got a 1950 on the reasoning test, a 710 on the bio, and a 790 on the math 2c (just found that last one out today).
 
That's a load of shit....if you stick some hard-working but stupid kid at MIT, there is NO way they can succeed. There are certain things you can not achieve by just working hard, like understanding ridiculous concepts and having a brain just wired for math. Studying and working hard only goes so far...i've seen a lot of people try their absolute best/hardest and utterly fail. So i think you're little 0% to 100% is a little fucked up. And by a little, a mean a lot.
 
when i was in 7th grade i took it because i was curious and that was back when it went to 1600, and i got a 1200 it was weird i was a nerd back then...oh well
 
same here dude except it was a mock

my 4 mock SAT scores have been (in chronological order):

1190 or something like that (7th grade when it was out of 1600)

1730 (8th grade)

1840 (9th grade)

1980 (10th last september)

hopefully next year when I have to take it I'll jump up a lot
 
my Calculous Teacher;s son recieved perfect o almost every thing- dont know score except for perfect in math- hes going to west point soon
 
i got an 1160 on the old ones, but i took it in 7th grade. as a freshman now, i got a 770/800 on the sat subject test in biology.

its already a claim thread ill do what i please.

sats are the dumbest most worthless things, I hated them, i didnt even have to send them to 2 of my schools, one which included UVM, and the other, providence college where i am going next year
