SAT or ACT

I'm my penultimate year of school, in the UK, and am just beginning to look into the states. I know I have to take either the act or sat but have no idea which is favoured by colleges or anything like that. Currently I'm studying Chemistry, Maths, Physics and Economics and General Studies for my A-levels so am probably more science/maths based.

Any suggestions? I've looked on both their websites but it hasn't helped me much and was looking for some 1st hand experiences.

Most colleges like seeing you take both. Alot of kids do better on one or the other, so taking both is definitely reccomended

most colleges will take both. based on ur strengths u listed, I'd bet u would do better on the act. but it doesn hurt to try both

East Coast schools favor the SAT and Midwest to West Coast schools favor the ACT. But honestly just take both, you'll usually find one of them is easier for you and pretty much all schools take both...

I think both coasts favor the SAT because i know california schools want it, and then everything in the middle is ACT

This. Some schools only take one or the other though. The best thing to do is figure out what schools you would like to apply to and check out their websites for admission requirements. Once you got that you can figure out if you need to take only one or maybe both.

Do both, and submit your best. I did way better on the ACT (32) and just sent that to schools and got into a great university.

But some schools require both.

Definitely take both though.

I must say, for myself i did better on the ACTs. It is a lot more organized time wise. The only thing that kinda a bummer on the ACTs is the science portion. But i would definatly take both and send them both off to colleges

im year 10.

The Purse is a pretty good school, right? A few people moved there from Newmarket.

Newmarket's pretty much Humanities.

But we have some good facilities, GYM, Pool, Astro etc
