Yesterday in my hometown of Grand Junction, Colorado (represent 970, P-Horn, Ski-Unit) Sarah Palins' motorcade was stopped by a group of 10 protesters who step in front of it holding a banner as she was leaving a rally. The group that claims responsibility calls themselves the "Red Pill". The "Red Pill" is a group of highschoolers and college kids, mostly punks and marxists/anarchists (i like the irony there). I have a few long time friends who are influential in the group and though most of the members aren't to smart they are way better than the average white trash "Joe Sixpack" (by the way, what about us "Joe Thirty-Racks" out here why won't we get some recognition) in my hometown who were most likely chanting some incoherent bullshit about Obama being a terrorists minutes before at Palin's rally.

Being said, I would like to toss out mad props from up here in Washington back to my hometown and all my friends who are raising some hell.

 
These kids are pretty stupid (as I said above) and I only know a few people who are involved in the "Red Pill" they mostly like protesting because they're punks.

But how is it moronic to protest Sarah Palin?
 
just because you dont agree with someones politics doesnt mean you need to be a douchebag and protest them, dont vote for them if you want to do something about it. although most of them wont vote because they are "marxists". fucking morons.
 
I'm confused here, protesting makes you a moron? That doesn't make much sense. Not voting for a candidate is one way that you can oppose a candidate that you disagree with, but by protesting that candidate you can publicly show your disdain for them and perhaps alter the rest of the publics opinion in your favor.

Protesting has long been a useful tool to disagree with someone with. Though I will admit that these are just dumb punk kids who hate the government and hate republicans (because they grew up in a small town surrounded by retarded republican hicks ).
 
if you want to support another candidate openly go right ahead, god bless. but protesting someone and blocking them from doing what they need to do just because you dont agree with their policies is ridiculous. maybe i dont like obama but im not gonna go protest the guy, i just wont vote for him. have a little class.
 
They hate conservatives because they grew up in a town surrounded by them? Is there any real logical reason here? Or just beind defient teenagers?
 
Excuse me? Protesting SHOULD happen, and it should happen more often. It's one of the easiest and most public ways to display your concern or disapproval of a given subject or person. For some reason the youth generation has lost the care to protest things they object to. Think about the Vietnam Era, when students all over protested constantly against the war, what happened to that? We need people to stand up for what they believe in. It's not an issue of class but simply voicing your opinion, which is a fundamental American principle.
 
you are missing my point, i think it is fine to pretest things...but dont protest a political candidate just because you dont like them, thats lame. and if you want to voice your opinion thats fine too, just do it in a way that doesnt fuck someones day up. its pretty simple.
 
Mostly the defiant teenager thing, but believe me when some cowboy passes you in the hall in school and calls you a faggot because you're wearing tight jeans you can either beat the shit out of him (what me and my friends did in school) or you get the shit beaten out of you latter that day by him and his friends. When shit like that goes down and is tolerated if not supported by the adults around you purely because of their socially conservative social viewpoints it can make you hate republicans.
 
I don't think this fucked Palins' day up she was sitting in a limo and probably barely even noticed the disruption. Though this could certainly fuck some of the young protesters lives up because of the "criminal investigation" into the incident.

Do you support Palin, or do you just hate arrogant punk kids, because I sympathize with you if its the latter.

i dont like palin a lot, and im not going to say who i support because that is a separate issue, but yeah i hate arrogant punk kids, and he said they blocked her limo....politicians are busy people...it probably made her late for something or other. and why would you protest someones campaign? if you dont like them then dont vote for them...its pretty simple.

Its a private statement vs. public statement issue. If they feel that simply not voting isn't doing justice to their feelings then its completely okay to publicly voice your opinion.
 
That was just an example of the environment they grew up in and many of them are still in highschool. Happily for me I was cool enough back in highschool that no one really messed with me or my friends but these kids do need to grow up for sure.

after 10 seconds of silence one kid came up and said"Because he's good for the environment?"

I forgot what it was called but I stumbled upon a youtube video where they interviewed a fuckload of people at the mccain rally, and there were a whole lot of full grown adults saying that they would rather have sarah palin as their president since she is more educated and smarter than barack, and ridiculous claims like obama is an arab that he is a terrorist and dumb shit like that so if you wanna play that game i'm pretty sure mccain loses that one.

I agree, i had to spend the night in the bus station when i got stranded in gunnison and had to get a bus back to boulder and vail pass closed from a storm. Met a couple junkies name ninja and smokey, they were the only people speaking english, they said they were going to denver to put this nasty chick they were with up as a whore or something and wanted to shank the kid sitting next to me, oh good times.
 
Compton ain't got shit on GJ, there are so many fucking crack head and speed freaks from GJ. The town is a pile of shit, it has some really nice parts but in general it sucks. The mountains around GJ however are the best the outdoor recreation is the best in the world.

I'll just go with cliffnotes: your friends are idiots and wasted their time, your obviously the same kind of person if your friends with them, Grand Junction is the gayest place on earth-period, the whole argument about protesting is ridiculous since this is not an example of peaceful protest nor does this protesting accomplish anything.

I have a lot of friends and I'm sure that it would be impossible for me to be the same kind of person as all of them, I like to have a very diverse group of friends and sometimes that includes so cool gutter punks that I know, sure they're highschool aged fools but I can ignore that for the fact that they generally don't give a fuck about anything and it can be really fun to hang out with people like that.
