Just wondering if anyone has this mp3 player. I've been interested in it and I wanna buy the new 8gb one with my Christmas money. Is it a dece player? If you have one please give me your feedback.

i have the 1 gb and i guess its pretty nice. it had radio so thats always good. the sound quality is good too. how much is the 8 gb?

hahah dude,.. u dont even kno what ur talking about..

apple isnt a piece of shit.. its some of a dopest shit out there.

r u calling mac's a peice of shit too with this comment? cuz if so you have been sorely misled

im a pc guy. i find pcs better in every way. and i disprove of ipods

i have videos that i would like to watch. i dont want to convert them to a format that ipods can play. id rather just drag and drop like you do to any not ipod player.

i dont want itunes on my computer so i can put music on my player, once again i want to drag and drop. a feature only pc's have. macs try too hard to be user friendly, which makes them much harder to use.

ipods (video) tend to break down within a year. creative zen vision:m (identical to ipod pretty much, but pc based) does not break down! its far more reliable and guess what? you can drag and drop and i dont have to convert my videos to play on it!

same with sandisk sansa. dont gotta convert anything. i really just do not like macs.

dude, i think you're exaggerating a bit. yes, there are excellent competitors to the ipod, but the ipod is an undeniably good product.

and you do have to convert videos to use on the sansa since it doesn't support the full resolution and framerate of standard video formats.

I bought the 512mb version as something cheap to use for running this summer. I was hoping that it might even function on the ski hill, come this time of year. But after 2 months I have no use for this device and will be getting a nano for riding.

Pros: cheap ($50 for the 512 version). It has a radio tuner.

Cons: terrible music quality. bad battery life (how did my old mini-disc out perfom this by massive amounts?). Software and computer access just suck in comparison to itunes. The main control area is way too hard to deal with if not in visual range (in my pocket).

Bottom line: I wouldn't spend a large amount of money to get one of these. But if you need something that you can trash with out regret, this will suffice.

I have the 8 gig

their an amazing alternative to apple nano

they are sweet they are thicker and heavyer than the nano but they play video have expandible memory up to 2 gigs on a micro sd card

the screen is bigger than a nano and you can play movies on its side the fm tuner works great and you can record off the radio its compatible with windows media player 10 and has drag and drop the video converter it comes with is gaurnteed to convert any video

the battery life is amazing and the click wheel thingy works great and it can be made to light up for night use the back light is great vivid colors and has customizable times

It is flash so you can drop it a few times without it breaking I have done it theres tons of acessorys for this thing almost as many as an i pod-it has a equalizer that allows you to customise your sound (only on the 8 gig)

the cons the keys on the sides of the scroll wheel should be raised more and or pulled away from the click wheel more but u get used to it with practice. and its better if you leave 20mg free space on the player as if you fill it all the way up it takes longer to start up

I have it too. unfortunately, if you are looking to play video's, there might be better choices. the sansa still requires you to convert them, and playback is a bit choppy. however, this player is amazing for music, i dont know what that one guy up there was talking about in terms of battery life, mine lasts AT LEAST 20 hours. Thats substantially better than the creative m, my friend has that and it only gets about 8 - 10 hours of battery life.

duuuude you need to do some research.

first, you can definately drag and drop onto an ipod if you're using a pc. i know a kid who used microsoft word to get his music on there cuz he didn't know how else to do it. you just have to make sure you get it in the right folder.

secondly, you don't HAVE to use itunes. it's just the best one out there so it is a smart idea.

THIRDLY, (this is the one that makes me think you are REALLY ignorant) mac most definately has drag and drop. except it's way better than on a PC. you can drag and drop everything. you can drag a picture out of Firefox and onto the desktop and it will copy it. you can drag a picture off the desktop and into your project. you can drag something and get into the folders by simply holding for a second. the drag and drop on a mac is much more sophisticated than on a PC.

As for the durability, I have had my video ipod for a year and it's working great. i have a solid case and take a bit of care for it, and it's fine. sure it will break if you don't have a case and it's dropping every day. just don't be stupid.

I am not against people disliking macs. i am, however, against people being ignorant and hating something that they know absolutely nothing about. Do some research before naysaying something.
