i never got a chance to try this last summer... but this summer its all on. i know a good sand pit and me and my friend are gonna go down there one day to do some sick sand skiing. has anyone tried this? and if u have, what are the prime conditions that youd want? wet, dry, etc.

peace

You know something that would really make me applaud? A guy gets stuck in quicksand, then sinks, then suddenly comes shooting out, riding on water skis. How do they do that?

I went sand skiing one time and was pretty disapointed, mainly because the slope wasn't steep enough. The sandpit has to be really steep, really light fluffy sand works pretty well. It has to be atleast 45 degrees to actually have some speed.

It doesn't have to be too steep, its the bottom of the skis that don't go fast...You need some mica/synthetic shit like on sandboards to go down sand dunes.

hey bro. me and my buddys live bout a mile away from some sweet pits. i am waiting to get some shitty old skis/bindings/boots to try it. however, we have been doing alot of sand boarding. what i have found hard stuff sucks. steep loose sand hills work the best. rocks can mess you up (atleast on a crappy plastic snowboard with no edges) so cleaner runs are the best. also, if anybody from michigan is familer with the sleeping bear area, i got a few questions. would u be able to ski down some of the huge sanddunes along the coast? those would be sweet, but i have a feeling u could get in deep shit doing that. ah, alriight laterz

Yeah I live in Regensburg / Bavaria, pretty close to the Monte Kaolino...seems to be quite steep, would like to join the Big Air Competition during the Sandboardíng Event...

what you need to do is get a pair of shitass skis and slice the ptex base off of them. they did this in a warren miller flick and it worked great

yah heaps of guys do it out here on the massive ass sand dunes, hehe, it needs to be steep but it does knock the shit out of your skis and wreck them good and proper
