Sand skier in oregon

I was surfing down in oregon last summer and we stopped by the sand dunes and they had a sand snowboarding place. It was pretty lame looking but they had a video of people boarding and hitting rails and jumps and shit on the snowboards. They put special bases and waxes on the boards to make them slide on the sand better. The video had one kid on centermountain skis with special bases destroying the rails.

is that skier kid on here, or anyone know him, I'm sure he must be a NS nerd
 
haha i saw a poster for a comp there once, looked kinda wierd. not to mention falling and getting sand all in your face and down your pants would suck
 
i go during the summer when i'm back home in MI, there's a couple miles of steep 500 foot sand bluffs down to lake superior. I just use my rock/rail skis and some old shitty bindings, you don't go fast unless it's really steep, but it can be pretty fun in the right areas. Found lots of drops and even an old telegraph pole to slide last time out.

The stuff on the bottom of sand boards is supposed to be a lot like the material they use for counter tops.

i have a short attention span, and as i started to write mount...i forgot what i was writing about and presumed it must be mountain.

ya this place was in florence. they seemed a little to hard core into it, different waxes for different types of sands, the super hardcore dude even used a complete snowboard/boots/binding setup. they have magazines and shit dedicated to it. anyways...the base material made them slide really fast, like it was snow.

I guess this kid went and put some on his skis. fun i guess, but they are so close to hood...
