Sammy's USO Run

wow, that wasnt as hucked as i thought it would be. he sketched out on the landing, but not bad. what the fuck was vanulars run to top that shit?

holy shit i thought that sw 12 was a 9 cause i didnt have the sound on. luckily i turned it on! wish there was a better camera angle

that insane, what the hell will win next years USO if a switch 12 didn't even win this year??? That is ridiculous.

i would have rather of seen like a five truck driver, double nose,...or any other cool grab with less of a rotation than that run...like someone should have done rainvilles run last year in the vermont open...in my eyes that was the sickest run i have ever sseen

ever think that judges are finally judging properly? not just on huck? if his run was anything like the one at tignes then i can see why it wasnt judged good for style.

PS this isnt a bag on charles, he is an AMAZING skiier but sammy all the guys who beat him, have oodles of style and charles has style but its weird...i duno but i can see why others won.

I think it just boils down to how tough it actually is to be a judge in this comp... do you judge on something that one person only throws in finals.... or judge someone who did something super sick.. but its a 1080 degree rotation like everyone else?

being a judge would fuckign suck.

But then Vanular did a 630 on and probably some switch 10s to beat it, so... welcome to the USFO. It looked as unhucked as it could I suppose. The 10 looked better though, in my estimation.

slow smooth shit should win over huck fest 2k6 any day of the week. this is just encouraging kids to spin all day long, no matter how hucked it looks.

OK so skiing is a fucking huckfest.. We need to get some fucking real skiers to judge.. a smooth switch cork 7 with a solid grab should beat the fuckout of anything liek that shit.. im tired of spin to win..its not even that fun to watch.

that was such a sick run but what really won it for him was the 270 lip 270 out on the down rail.

I'd rather see some cool shit like switch backflip double nose grabs, everyones runs are always so cookie cutter you can almost guess what they are going to throw before they even hit the jump

what! next year we`ll probably see some 1440 if nothing changes... it shitty becouse the riders have to do that othervise they woudn´t have a chance.

i´d like it much more if the winning run woudn´t have a larger spin than a 10 or 9

skier are just doing what they have to do to win..cork 5 truckdrivers aint gonna win, smooth 7s aint gonna win... and why would they win if everyone can do them... skiers need tricks to set them apart... i dont think spinning as much as possible is the right way to go but thats what the judges were scoring high so thats what they did.. and it worked out good for them

i didnt like that run. not only

is the huckfest annoying but that run lacked variety. sw 7 sw 10 sw 12. the sw 7 is best unatty trick.

^^^^ i agree it lacked style, its becoming arials. I think its cool to throw big switch 12's but i think you should mix it up with some style too

switch 10's have gotten to the point where they're just like a must have in a run. It should be you only do a 10 if you can make it look good.

Switch 12s should be done on 100-foot tables or not at all. Sucks to see that the USFO is as much of a huck-fest as ever.

In support of spinning big, if every single person can do a nice smooth cab 7, but only the top 10 in the world can pull a smooth cab 10 or 12, then I think that's what they should show. Maybe not off all the jumps, but the pro's need to show how they are better than everyone else, and nice 7's and 5' off every jump doesn't really do that.

The first time I saw Sammy's run I thought the last hit was a cab 9 at first. The X games will be a little differant because its invite only so they jumps can be bigger for smoother spins, but this is an Open, so the course has to be a bit more suitable to people who aren't full on pro's.

the run before sammy pulled off the most impressive trick of the day. Cab 9 truck driver grabbing twoards the tips all boned out.. so for those of you that said no style... sorry..

^YEA! its not like Sammy can't pull style 7s or 5s or whatev you guys like. Him and every other competitor WANTS to win! so they have to do what hte judges want them to do, which i belive are bigger, smooth spins

word Huckfest fuckin sucks! I mean his run was sick, but I think he should have throwned his most styley trick too... not only big spin with the most style in it.

whats happening to skiing is its becoming infested with bitchy little pricks like you who think the sport is ruined because the pros are taking it to the next level. It is their job to progress the sport...what would you rather see cork sevens for the next 5 years.

and by the way..that was the probably as slow and stylie a sw bio 12 could be.

think about it this way, if you could throw crazy steeze and get props from kids on NS or throw a fuckin epic cab 12 as stylie as possible and come in second in US Open slope and win $$$, which would you choose?

He made that 12 look about as good as humanly possible. How big was that jump? 60-70 feet? True 12s should be thrown down on 90+ footers but this is a competition, you are given whatever they give you for a course and its their job to try to win and throw some gnarly tricks. Since he can do a sw12 like that on command, imagine the shit he can do when hes freeriding real jumps...That wasn't jerky or anything, my vote, not hucked and a pretty nice jumpline...
