Sammy's Orbital 10 - New rotation or not.

im no expert, but to me it looks like a cork 10. hes spinning pretty much normally, no flip, for the first 540 and then tucks his head under (barely) at the last 540 to make it a cork. Im definitely not seeing his head go under twice, so i wouldnt call it a double anything.

the whole thing is kinda deceiving. in his instagram video, the first clip you can clearly see he opens up his chest, which would make me think oh dub flat. but on the second clip, he drops his shoulder, closing his chest, making that one like dub bio/misty......

It looked like he threw it forward to me so I don't think it's a dub flat but like a dub forward true flat or some weird shit like that

That's amazing! It's almost like you watched Henrik's run two posts above you and you just copied what LVV said!

Just wait, now everyone will be like, "Yeah dub flat, that's all. it's so easy to tell"

These threads always point out that a huge portion of people on here don't even know the difference between cork, rodeo, flat, or misty. Rowen's old trick description thread is money, should be a sticky.

I'm going to go out on a limb here. I don't think it's a double anything. I think it's a completely normal 1080 grabbed with a straight leg. That makes his body look off axis but if you look at his non-grabbed leg it's pretty much below his body the whole time. After about 540 he seems to go slightly corked but I don't think he's really off axis....perhaps the strain of holding a straight leg grab pushed him that way, but I don't think this is a new trick of any sort.

No, they aren't. You are thinking of a wackflip, which for some reason the skiing population has decided to call a flatspin even though it is not even close.

The one at 2:52 I'd call a flat 5 to switch misty 5.

The first rotation definitely seems like an actual flat spin. not the wack-flip type flat spin people do. he comes out of that rotation in a landing position after a 540 rotation.

The second look at it solely after the first 5, when he's starting switch in an upright position. He throws left backwards over is shoulder and rotates over his shoulder until his feet really are above his centre of mass. I's say that's a switch misty.

Truth and I love Trick Guide II is such a great thread.

Also, the problem as I see it is that, the flatter the rotation is from takeoff, the tougher it is to tell whether it's being thrown forward like a misty or back like a rodeo. Misty you throw high to low; rodeo you throw low to high. This he is throwing straight across so it is technically not like either of those.

Exactly, which is why properly flat flat spins and bios are often pretty much identical and blur into one another, especially with bigger rotations. It's no surprise that most people in this thread are either saying it's a really flat flat or a bio. I don't think either is incorrect.

I feel like its a dub Lincoln, but instead of flipping with feet over head, he rotates around a vertical point. Whatever it is, it's dope as hell

The line between dub flat 10 and dub bio 10 on skis is pretty thin. People tend to throw flats on skis kind of forward sometimes, so the two tricks can look very similar. I would say the second to last trick is a super flat dub flat and the last one dub bio 10.
