SAME song used for 4 different ski segments this year

It has come to my attention that so far this year, 4 skiing segments have used the exact same song. This song is "Sail" by AWOLNATION. Re-using a song isn't always a big deal (like in Revolver and Light the Wick both used the song "Bad Wings" last year) but using the sam song 4 times is a little bit redundant. This year these 4 segments have used the song "Sail" :

- TGR's One For the Road - Alaska closing segment

- MSP's Attack of La Nina - Alyeska Park shoot

- Salomon Freeski Tv Episode 6

- Kastle Pro Team Athletes Edit

Unfortunately I cannot embed one for the road or la nina's segments because of copyright laws.

So what do you guys think of this redundant use of this song? It may not be a big deal, but I find it slightly annoying and it is an interesting discussion topic. Should ski companies begin calling dibs on songs or should they just be respectful of each other and not use eachother's songs?
 
That song has such a good vibe to it. It's an amazing song that can be matched up with amazing shots.

i didn't realize it was in 4 segs already! i like the song but that's a lot. but i see that red bull made it, which would make sense why it's in a ton of segs.
 
Damn right. I love that song !!!

And I don't think that the film productions do big meetings to discuss what music there gonna use in there film !!!! (maybe they do.. I have no idea)

And I'm pretty sure that it was first used by the LOS in The Pilot !!!
 
I heard this song over the summer (yeah before all of you and before it became main stream) and I have loved it ever since. Weird cuz it's not something you would find on my Ipod being all screamy and dubstepy but it's sick. It fits well and seems like it's pretty easy to edit something to.
 
Who gives a fuck. If a song is awesome use it, regardless if someone else has. This "omg song used in edit, can't use it now" is bullshit. Every time I see someone bitching about this topic I just want to cock back and slap some sense into em.
 
Another song is "Coastin'" by Zion I. All these young kids are using it in their promos and ski edits al;l because of the urban segment in Revolver. The professional producers aren't using it in their videos but I've seen 6 edits with this song. It's still an awesome song though.
 
The song is sick, I'm stoked when I here it on the radio, it's in many edits/segments? Deal with it. People just have good taste in music. It's better than the song from Sammy's segment this year.
 
at least this is better than when kids and electric feel were in everything. i swear like 3 different trailers used electric feel in the same year
 
Whoa! A song was used in multiple different large productions, in the same year?! unheard of.
