Okay so hears the deal, Im 16, 5'9ish about 140 pounds (31.4 kg for the canucks) and i really need some twins. What size should i go for 170s or closer to 180's?

Also heres another implication, i have no money so my dads gonna buy em for me. But, he doesnt understand the usefullness of twin tip skis, centermounted bindings, and thinks he knows everything about skiing (and he did back in the early 90s when in his prime.) I live in Maryland so i only ski like roundtop and seven springs with ocassional trips to NY and maybe even a VT trip this year. What should i do to convince my dad to get em for me and what size should i get?

I'm gonna say go with the 170s. Pretty much everyone else is gonna say don't be a pussy go with 180s. I'm not sure why everyone here likes long ass skis, but they do. I'm 165 and getting 182s.

Midwest, are you joking? Motherships are pow skis dumbass, not all mtn east coast skis.

I'm still not sure whether to go 170ish or upper 170s-180

Armada AR5's, K2 Public Enemys, Line Chronics, 4-Frnt STLs, Oakley Osama Pro's. Anything between 170 and 180.

I think im leaning towards 170ish cuz my last year setup was a 160 and a 20 cm jump just seems like it would be too much? Is this right?

i went form a 145-170(puberty hit me like a ton of bricks) but you get used to it.
