I personally feel his was top 3 if not 2. It seems to go over everyone’s head and they only think about hackel and mango. Don’t get me wrong they were tight but Zahners was just that much better imo

Agree for sure, in terms of the hype, I've seen so much stoke for Hackel and Mango (and the hype for them is 110% deserved, they're segments we're so legit) but Sam is top 3 for me for sure, and for the production and editing side of all the submissions I appreciated his edit the most.
 
The fact he didn't even podium blew my mind. You can tell they felt bad about it too cause the XGames IG was plugging him hard for the fan-favorite.... which he also didn't get. Hope they bring him back next year cause of the shortened time he got this year.

haha sam bossed that out, same rail was in will’s realski a couple years ago sam went back to up the ante
 
Let's make a petition for him to get another spot next year. He is capable of so much and filled in for Phil after the competition had already started.
 
I'm satisfied with the podium but homie def deserves a spot next year, one of the most interesting street skiers to watch right now
 
Would be so hyped to see Sam get invited back and compete if he chose to do so. For him to have only really filmed 1 out of the 3 months and still be in such high medal contention like he was is absolutely nutty, if he were to have time to prepare and stay healthy it's no contest. Super proud of Sam & Gavin getting scrappy and making it happy. Unreal impressive
 
Definitely agree that Zahner deserves a spot next year, and could have maybe ended up top 3 with that edit. But the quality of all the 2020 edits was unreal. Really difficult to even just pick top 3 with an edit like jesper's to not even medal and the most popular only get third. For sure one of the best real ski competitions.

and im surprised i havent seen people talking about the sw 4 pretzel 2 more, that's the first time i can think of seeing that trick on urban and it was dooooope
 
agreed. He should have gotten a podium spot. With that said, I still think mango deserved 1st. I see it as him and hackel would’ve been a close call for 2nd/3rd
 
Sam and Gavin did such a good job with the time and constraints they had! I would love to see them both invited back and have the full 3 months to put together a part. Def worth noting he seemed to have injuries/concussions that limited his ability to get after it the whole time (after taking Phil's spot late in the game)

sam had 2 concussions while we were filming and took a total of maybe 3-4 weeks off. we got word he had an invite (grateful to phil for the spot) on dec 17 and started filming like dec 20 or something. altogether maybe 3-4 weeks total of filming time went in to his part between lost time from injuries and late entry.

no i don't think there was any ranking beyond 3rd place and we got last in fan favorite it looks like

That 270 onto the 8 kink and then the fakie cork 7 wall ride hackle did were the tricks of the comp IMO
 
Khai's critique kinda annoyed me. That was a defining moment for the entire part and it took another month off of filming. To film a part that amazing in 1/3 of the time everyone else had is deserving of a podium
