if I get stuff from Salomon should I get the pocket rocket or 1080? I do like 65% park and 35% backcountry. ITs hard cuz they both seem sooo simalar (sp?) I know they both really light even tho there fat. so what should I do? cuz they seem like there almost the same...

The Salomon 1080 is one of the worst powder skis I have ever ridden...if you don't give a shit about what I have to say, fuck you and read the review in the new Powder...they are not the same ski.

The new 1080 is a bit wider now so it SHOULD ride better in powder than it did and is way better in the park. But most importantly the 1080 is firmer for all mtn riding, unlike the shitty rocket with its jello like flex....

 
what the hell?! I have had my new 2003's 1080's since the middle of last winter and we had some killer powder days at Mammoth. They are super good in the powder!

now I know if I got the PR I would get 175. But what if I got the 10? 171 or 181? Im 5'7' now but Im just 15 and I'll have these skis till Im like 5'10'. Its freakin' hard to pick! I wish there was sompin in between those 2 but theres not. So wich legnth? atleast there center mount so that makes up for longess.....

should be a better ski this year for all mountain if you ask me

I skiied the 181 1080 in april at whistler. we had this awsome powder day and we hiked back in the blackcomb glacier which had no lift access. Great powder! The skis were mint and anyone who says otherwise id full of shit. The Pocket rocket skis very well to though. If I were you though I'd go 1080. Its a bit more versatile. But you cant go wrong either way.

 
def go for the 1080 - like you said tis gotta last you a while as you get taller, and that means heavier, so you dont want the rubbery Pocket Junk man, and go 181, after a while of skiing on them you'll get used to the little extra length, and it will def help out the back... and like was said you'll save a few bucks to put to towards the transciever you need for hitting up the Back....

I ride the backcountry down in Durango all the time off of red mountain pass and my 1080's are incredible!!! they ski so well in the park and in the heavy powder.

 
I have actually SKIED with the new teneightys and they are really good. I want longer ones though, (i skied on the 171s wich were supprisingly sturdy for their length.) 181 1080s all the way.
