Salomon Z12

Has anyone ever skied on them? Experienced any problems? I'm looking to pick up a pair, just want to see if there are any issues. If there are, I'll go for PX12's instead.

Go with px12s but i do have z12s and they are extremley light but they still seem durable. I would buy them if your just doing normal park riding and you dont need a very high din.

they ski great, are super light, never pre released, withstood 30 foot drops, but the fuckers broke on me the last day of the season. total buzzkill?

That's what I was worried about. Someone told me that his friend's broke (cracked) too. I heard from someone else though, that they felt solid. So I figured I'd come here and see what everyone else's experiences with them were. From what you said, though, they sound good. Until they broke.

I have them and love them. I ski them on 12 and never come out when I don't need to. They're really durable too and easy to get in and out of as well.

I used S912's last year on my park ski. They had at least 100 days on them and I was in and out of them probably 2 dozen times a day. The only issue I had was mangling brakes...I was skiing them at 9 front, 10 rear. Never came out of them when I shouldnt, and they released when they were supposed too. Overall good binding in my opinion.

my friends got the 10s and he kills the park and urban everyday and hasn't had a single problem with em. he got them with the WRS's and its the LIGHTEST set-up i've ever felt. So i picked up a pair when they were on sale for 99 at getboards. they better be solid for BC. Oh yeah girlfriend has the 12s too on her guns and they're fine except your boots have to be spotless from snow. it was a bitch hiking and on recoveries. so yeah not the best for doin laps around the booter or taken em out of bounds. do-able but could be a little more slick.

Yeah, I'm looking at getting Z10's... I just asked about Z12's cause they're just higher DIN and more people have probably skied Z12s than 10's. I'm getting 10's on my Jibs...

Also, seeing as I typically ride 7... I have no need for a 12DIN binding.

I'm looking at picking up some '07 Seths too... I really like 08 with the mini-rocker and all, but I simply can't afford it. So, Jibs + Seth = My quiver this year. Still... drop dead gorgeous.

are you sure you don't want to buy some melees...? could i interest you in some rubys?

haha i can't wait to get a deal with them. other than the fact that half my mountain will have moments... but its cool. hahah yeaaa buyy mommmenntsss is all i have to say

As much as I like Moment, what they are still missing is a pow/big-mountain for shorter people (unless you count the Tahoe). So... due to their lack of big-mountain ski for people like me, I will have to use Seths for the time being. (btw, I'm 5'6. 14y/o, still growing fast though).

Lmao. You're def. doing your job well. Anyways, I had considered not buying anything apart from Moments, but I just can't find that pow ski that I'm desperately in need of (seeing as I live west coast). So, unless they can make a miracle happen....

haha well i'd just have to say since you ski park mostly (i'm guessing) than well if it were me? i'd go all out and get the burliest mother fucker out there since i would barely use it anywhere else. oh and by the way.. i use my rubys in the park. they are 188s. ;)

il vaut mieux que tu achetes les rubys. haha desole j'n parle pas beaucoup de francais. tu habite en BC.. est-ce que tu parles francais puis que tu es en Canade?

et comment dit-on "make the best choice". "fais les plus meilleur choix".. c'est a dire ca? oui? non?

Jeeezz... I can't do this anymore, you win. Haha. Can we speak in English now?

I'll talk to Luke, see if he can hook me up with anything special. If not, then Seths it is. I loveee the look of the Rubys. They are hootttt. But I wish they made things with shorter people in mind.

they are solid bindings if you are a relatively light guy

unless you are a real aggressive skier they won't break so easy

I'm looking at Z10's, I'm sure they'll be fine. I'm 5'6, 125. I ski hard, but I think they will suffice.

My z12's are sick so far...lightest, toughest binding I've used. There have been some bad stories in the forums but wtv

lightest.. definitely. toughest... i highly doubt it. salomon has a bad rep for durability and i'd have to agree with it. toe pieces always get screwed up on these i hear. but hey guess what i got em too! but thats cause they were 99 on getboards.

so mine cracked in me to like right by the mounting holes on the base plate of the heel piece!? i dont like them i wount buy another pair.

i've heard they're pretty legit

we got an icon fest up there, i my eyes hurt trying to read your names

12 supposedly, but probably around 10. Im not an expert though.

you should be fine at 12, theoretically, but spring tension will be different throughout

are the new STH series just as light as the Z series?

I know the STH are much more durable but there also so much more expensive
