Salomon twenty twelve vs Armada AR7

I can't decide...i already have some Line Afterbangs as my main park ski, but i want a twin tip that i can take all mountain but not be afraid to go into the park with. I was leaning towards the Twenty twelves because they seem like an awesome ski to have fun with, but the Ar7's are a solid ski as well. HELP PLEASE!

AR7 by far, but there are better all-mtn skis out there if you already have your park skis, unless you are getting a deal on either of these skis.

i am unsure if the 2012 is symetrical or not but the ar7 is not, and that would make it a great all mountain ski if mounted at recomended, and hell mine are mounted at center and they still kick ass, for example i took them to a basin today and they were great with pounding threw the slush as well as carving threw east coast ice, and i would really stay away from any solomon ski with cap construction.

2012 are not symetrical i think. They are 92mm at the waist and they have rocker. So they will be great anywhere. I a salomon fan, so im buying the 2012 next year. I have a good deal ( 300$) new, but i own a pair of JJ's and they are my favorite pow ski. Armada make good ski, so you cant go wrong whit one of those 2 ski. So do you want a ski whit rocker or camber ? Sorry for my english.

If im not mistaking, The salomon ski whit cap ( the old dumont) were the more durable, the new salomon ski have sidewall ( suspect ) and are not the best. But the 2012 look allright for the durabilty compared to the suspect

I have the ar7 as my do it all ski. Paired with the afterbangs would be perfect. The ar7's rip.. Like seriously, if you mount them at factory point, you can go all day with them like an all mountain ski, but still hit something after your line. I skied with them at Stowe, late afternoon I took a run with my dad cause he wanted to race me down liftline. Giant, steepish trail, icy afternoon, and I didn't feel like I would lose an edge the entire time. Great ski.

Before I reaqd your post I was ready to say get the AR7, but seeing how you want it for a All mountain ski definatly get the 2012. I had the Thalls and the 2012 this season, and the 2012, is such a good all mountain ski, its ok in the park too, but the tanners are much better in the park. I used to ride the AR6's which I loved but they were still not as good as the 2012 in powder and steeps. One thing about the 2012 is do buy it long, with the twin rocker it does get a little sketchy at high speed. I'm 5'11 170 lbs and I fiound the 179 this season good but a little short. Im getting the 186 next season though so Im stoked to see just how much better they will be. Durability wise they held up as well as my tanners, few edge cracks and some top sheet chipping.

alright cool, thanks for the input...that makes me definitely want the 2012 as you had a similar setup with a park ski, t-halls, and an all mountain with the 2012's

Yeah its a good setup, ill be using it this year too, Thall from last year and a suspect as park skis, 2012 as all mountain and Rocker 2 for powder. Pretty much everything you could need.

i was gonna get 2012s but i went with ar7s and they are soo durable and theyre fast too...if your dad wants to race you

It depends somewhat on the conditions, if there is some fresh snow or pow then yeah there great the rocker is good. On hard pack this is where you need the length, they carve great but the effective running edge is pretty short. But in my opion there a great carving ski on hard pack and soft snow, and are really good in powder

it will hurt in the moguls since you will buy a longer ski since the rocker wont help any on hard pack, and a longer ski in the moguls is harder to move then a shorter one. and the trees it will help if there is some fresh stuff, but if there isnt it will be bad, since it will be harder to move since they will be longer.

so overall im looking for a ski that is good for carving, groomers, moguls and trees, is ski in southern ny so i get no powder...whadayathink?

either ski is going to be ok for you, i would say ar7 just because you will be skiing more ice then anything, and a ski with rocker isnt going to be to good on ice.
