Salomon Ti Bindings

I was in a store looking at bindings for my 1080s. I was looking at the S910 Ti and S810 (steel). They salesperson said that he was talking to this guy who had the S910 TiPE2 bindings and when he landed his jump he was leaning ahead and the rear titanium piece snapped off. This happened to him 3 times. The binding snapped just where the rear screws went in. Almost as if it pulled right out of the ski. Anyways, has this happened to anyone else?

that's becasue the 910s are not the best binding. they are bulit for smaller din. get the 912s or the 914s they are much more stornger.

Don't get salomon bindings. Put looks or rossis on your 1080s. You might even save some money.

Looks=good

Salomon Bindings=bad

i dispised my 912ti's last season. They released so easily, especially in the pipe..they always fell off.

i had the s810s last year, they were just terrible, broke em on my first day skiing, and then for the rest of the season, they early released and soon as i landed. id stay away from those and maybe all salomon bindings.....looks or rossis is where its at

i must be the only person on earth who has never had any problems with salomon bindings. i have the s810 ti and theyre sweet for me, they do occasionally(like three or four times all last season) fall off for no reason, but thats cuz the dins at like 7 and im too lazy to raise it

My experience: Rossi Pow'Air's 178 + Rossi Scratch BC 188 w/rossi pro axial bindings: Good binding for sure, never any problems but they are soooo goddamn heavy.

Bandit XX 177 and Pocket Rocket 185 w/ S810ti: Man, Sooooo damn light. I loved it for everything including park. (btw, pocket rockets are waaaay too soft, but thats besides the point).

Anyways I am about 5'8 and 140 lbs. I'm a pretty light guy and I don't ski park well but for big mountain stuff Salomon Ti is the best by far, especially when trekking uphill, lighter is better.

but that's just my experience,

Oh, my first pair of salomon's that i had ruled. I bought them the first year that the spearic design came out and rode them for 4 years until they were worn right out. Never had a single problem with them, and that's why i bought salomon again. Needless to say, i was sorely disapointed this time around.

there are factors other than knowing 'how to ski'. I agree that that is what bindings are supposed to do (release under pressure), but no matter how good you are, you cant land perfectly every single time - pro or beginner, good or bad.

only thing I would say about the salomons is, if you have problems, salomon usually do a good aftersales, so things could be a lot worse...

Oh, and most of the problems that do occur, on any binding when skied like this, tend to be from landing switch from what i have experienced. and this is because binding design is based on the performance when riding regular, carving, in bumps etc, not specifically designed for the switch stuff where the forces behave differently...

I never thought about how a binding would work when skiing switch. interesting
