I am about 5'7 i love hitting big jumps i like rails as well. i spin a lot and want to get inverted this season. i DOn't like super flexy skis at all. i like to have a poppy ski thats stiff enough to handle the bumps and stuff but still flexes when i want it to. I hit powder when ever its available. i ride mt bachelor so i want this ski to be able to do well with powder to. Weight is also a key factor. i like lighter as long as its not to the point where the ski will break. im thinkin suspects but idk help with facts and things about each ski. or if you have ideas about other skis. Thanks to all

yeah the suspects r good for jumps. and octos r good for rails and there symetrical. i have the ltd anthems there sick

alright thanks guys ya i think im gonna go with suspects i can't stay away from the 65 footers and up ha. anything else would be appreciated.

hmmmmmm...

a ski that everybody has this season vs. a one off ski or equal quality, the nobody will have.....

ya well i couldn't care less about a fuckin graphic. as long as its not super lame its fine. performance is all that matters to me. besides i show my steeze with style not graphics.

ya man, not saying that i really even care about the graphics, i was just trying to figure out what you were trying to say

i love anthems and think theyre the best ski ever, but thats because they fit my style of skiing. according to your skiing style that you described, suspects would be the better choice for what you want to accomplish.

lol, sorry i could have clarified that a bit.

im just saying everybody is going to have a pair of suspects this year, i was jsut implying that the should go for the other really good ski, that very few people will have cause its limited edition....

seriously get the jibs they are the lightest skis other than the jon olsson pros. they are mid stiff and are very very very very very poppy! they are handmade in reno nevada and are made by pro skiers! overall these are the best skis i have ever ridden. or you could try the reno rocker if you want a park ski that will also be very good in the powder.

ok suspects are to stiff i mostyly stay in the park or powder i usually stay away from crud. but the problem with those is that i can't get them at a discount. i can get anthems or suspects for 40 percent off plus bindings so anything besides salomon and line or anything else they have is different

i'm sorry but anthems are in no way equal quality to suspects
and i know i'll get hate cause this site loves anthems so much, but your comparing a price point, three year old, cap construction really soft ski to salomons sidewalled highest end 09 park ski. i'm not a fan of either company, but anthems are not equal quality to suspects.

to the thread creator, if you were doing a lot of jibs and butters i'd say anthems, but if you like stiffer skis definitely go with the suspects.

alright well now i am really just stuck haha isn't helping much. let me put it this way our biggest jump last season was a 65 foot jump everything else was 35-50 so i am not hitting huge jumps but i want a ski that will be playful in parks that have rails and other jibby things but can handle the big jumps and wont be like k2 fujatives soft READ THIS!!!!!!!!! I am thinkin suspects now but i need some clarifacation so ya go at it.

funny/regretful thing is that i got 09 anthems this year but i didnt get the ltd. edition ones cuz i wanted the newer tech (which was basically just carbon ollieband...) was it worth it? i dunno i really like my anthems but the octolands are pretty sick to.

thread creater: if ~40 ft jumps go with anthems. they much more playful and can still hold their own on that size jump cuz of the width. i mean suspects are good but i just think anthems will be more fun

k as long as the anthems are not super floppy im good and think i will go with anthems usually the jumps i hit are 40 and up so they will do fine thanks every body

Ok just to clear things up, in some part repeating what others have said. Anthems (esp. octolands) - 3 year old tech, price point, soft park ski, slow base, basically a cheap ski to trash on rails.Suspects - Top end park ski with a faster base, mid-flex, designed for all over park, better all mountain...Not comparable.. The chronic is more comparable to the suspect than the anthem.. If you want to ski, get the suspects.. if you want to purely jib maybe get anthems.. anthems will still work on 50ft jumps, but suspects are going to be a LOT better that said i actually don't like salomon much and I do like line so i'm not biased to salomon either..

just choose a ski. i guarantee you you won't regret it. go with your initial feeling. there are TONS of great park skis out there. really, just choose one and never look back.

still on the softer side... although they still hold their own all around the mountain. if you don't want something soft i'd say stay away from anthems and go for suspects, and as it was stated before, chronics would be alot more comparable to suspects. something like the chronic seems to be what you're looking for... they just kill it everywhere.

the suspects and octolands are complete opposites in basically every way. capped vs sidewall, soft vs stiff, extremely popular vs slightly less popular. both good quality, but with what you are looking for, the anthem should not even be considered. the suspect should be a good ski for you, who cares if everyone else has it, its a good ski that will fit your needs.

ya i am definetely goin with suspects not only do i think they will be better for me i am getting them for free i am stoked out of my mind. ,y shop sponsor hooked me up with the salomon rep and i thik i might be able to get a sponsorship with salomon!!!
