Salomon Sth12 problems

Hey whats going on guys, i know the sth isnt the strongest of bindings but i was curious as to if anyone is having alot of problems with them? broke 1 brake really quick, then on other heelpiece i snapped my steel track right behind where the brake would bolt in rendering it useless. as well as my plastic housings on the tracks ive replaced those twice keep snapping them and risking pull outs.

other than that i love these bindings. so basically im wondering should i go through the hassle of warrantying them or just going to a shop and getting more parts as they break? i am only an intermediate park skier so im not smashing on them super hard and riding 9 din on it.

thanks for reading!

First off your not actually on the sth12 your I the z12 which is not a performance binding. The issue your having are very common when you try to ride a z12 hard. I would recomend upgrading to perhaps te sth2 13. They will be much better for you.

You should probably listen to Tom. He knows his stuff.

The STH 12 is a rebranded Z12 with an oversize toe. Tom is right. The reason you are continually breaking these bindings is because they are a budget/entry level binding that has a DIN of 12. No structural reinforcement in it to make it more durable.

The STH2 13 or 16 are the legit, super durable bindings you would rather have.

Correct me if im wrong, just thinking, but doesnt the STH12 oversize have the same heel as the STH 14 or 16? (5 Screw pattern) Just a different Toe. (Before they switched to the WTR shit)
