Salomon STH 12???

I was out skiing the other day and while landing switch caught the brake of my binding in the snow, the ski popped off and unfortunately the brake was not what bent. The whole plate that attaches the brake to the ski was totally bent up and distorted. i tried to fix it by bending it back into place with pliers but they were never the same. Yesterday i was out skiing with them and landed poorly off a jump. The entire brake came off the binding and my ski went flying down the hill. The screw that held the binding in place had totally stripped the threads holding the binding in place. I took it in to the ski shop at the bottom o the hill and they recommended me getting new bindings.
I was just wondering if the Salomon sth12's would be any better for switch landings, and would be an all around better binding than the marker 10.0's I had. So basically are these good freestyle bindings? Or will they break just as easy as the last ones i had?

That piece of metal under the brake is actually replaceable. I'm not sure if salomon will send you the part.

They were just trying to sell you a binding. Replacement parts will be $20 tops.

if the problem now is the hole is stripped---you could try and re tap the whole--which is a tool that cuts new threads so you can put a screw in again. or get a slightly bigger screw and screw it into the hole, which might cut new threads and hold.

Honestly for the value of these bindings (50 dollars heavily used when i got them) and the value of the parts needed to replace them (30-50 dollars for brakes alone). and the fact that i have been looking for a reason to replace them what do you guys think about the salomon bindings?

I have the sth 12 and I love it. All depends on your weight and skier ability but I have heard good things about the sth 14 driver aswell

I weigh about 145 and would say that I am in the advanced/expert range. Basically I wanna know if they are gunna get wrecked if I catch a brake riding switch.

Basically all bindings brakes break if you pop out going switch. I have popped out a few times going switch and my sth 12s brakes didnt break.

Sth 12's are bombproof. I know they're technically the "weakest" Sth driver binding but they hold their shit really good.. I pop out when I need to, and I stay inwhen I'm just a tiny bit backseat.. Letting you cover up by buttering a little. Sick bindings. Get them

Also I am 145 lbs and I was thinking of setting the dims at 7-8 I popped out to much at 6 with my markers and was just wondering if i am gonna kill my knees with that higher dim?
