Salomon STH 12 question

Hey,

I have the salomon sth 12s mounted on my suspects and have been having problems with ejecting anytime I land switch off a decent sized jump. I am 5'10" and 160 and have my DINs at 9 which I would think should be more than enough. The other night one of my skis popped off just from landing slightly backseat straight airing a jump. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with the sth bindings and whether it is just a matter of the DINs being too low. Thanks.

i ahve the 16's, but the guy at my shop when i bought them a couple weeks ago said not to go with teh 12's because alot of people that hes sold them to have that problem. i keep my dins at 11(im 6.3 200lbs) and they only pop off when im crashing hard, otherwise they are still on and i like it that way

The 12's are cheap plasticy crap. Make sure your forward pressure is set correctly, but you may need better bindings.

I have two pairs of STH 16s, and they get the job done, but aren't ideal because of the lack of elasticity in the heel release. I like the adjustable toe height though, and that's worth it.

About 3 days ago I created a thread with almost the same title (mine are Sth14) got a few responses about forward pressure, checked it and it was fine. I had marker jesters last year which did me fine, never popped out unless I had a big fall. If you find a solution, give me a shout, because all i can think of now is crankin up the din but i wouldnt advise you to do the same. haha sorry i havent really helped you there.......

Ya, Ive always used rossi bindings and got a pair of the sth12's on the proform cuz they were sooo damn cheap. but they are sooo damn cheap. i pop out on rails....and the forward pressure and everything is fine. i set them all up myself and have checked them a couple times cuz how pissed i was about popping out. its never fun to have your skis pop off when you land a jump. or for them to pop off while sliding a rail. i am definitely never getting salomon binders again. my rossis have only popped out twice and im pretty positive i would have blown my knees out if they didnt release.

How do you change the forward pressure? Could making this higher possibly hold me in better and if so would this cause me to not release when I actually want to i.e. bad falls?

Have a tech do it and show you how so you can set it properly. Forward pressure is set on the STHs with the worm screw at the base of the heelpiece.
