I know there are loads of threads on these but I have read them all and this is a specific question.. I am 5'8 140 pounds 304mm BSL.. I ski hard and have a bad habit of slamming my skis hard on to rails.. landing backseat and front seat switch.. My DIN will be 7-9.. So I have been looking at bindings for a while to go on Moment Jibs and Rockers.. Looked at Griffons but I don't trust the heelpiece.. Now I am looking at the Solly STH 12s and maybe 14s.. But I have some concerns about them and so wanted to see what people have thought of the 12s..Basically I had old Solly 910s and had problem after problem.. prereleases all the time..twisting out of the toepiece.. always popping off on rails.. I am worried by the short elastic travel and the three hole toepiece having pulled bindings out of my walls last year (i know that was the skis but still).. and yesterday a mate couldn't stick his flat 5s without pre-releasing out of his z10s..Are the STH 12s better? How has everyone found them?
Sparknotes: Looking at STH12s, Worried about 3 hole toe, Little elastic travel, and prereleases..

I have a pair of 912 TI's and, although super light, they pop off all the time like you said. I looked at the STH series and they definitely look a little more beefy. However, the part that I replace constantly is the plastic baseplate. They still have that on the STH series and I don't know if I would trust them to be much more reliable. Can anyone vouch for these? I would love to be able to trust Solly bindings because I love how light they are.

I ride the STH 12's on my thrusters i think there super sick. The heel piece is metal plated so you won't have to worry about it cracking. Thats what i did to my bindings before these. I think you would be satisfied there deffinetly built pretty tough.

I have the STH 12 on my Pipe cleaners and i was really happy with them.. i ridw with the din on 9 and had a few problems with pre release but i had a closer look at it turned out my forward pressure was to tight. After i fixed it ive had no problems. Its definaty a beefy binding and super light.

yeah the heel on the sth doesn't have the plastic so it won't crack, and it's a wormscrew instead of the tab so you can get your forward pressure exactly right instead of just in half cm increments... so prerelease issues should be much improved.

i'm more worried about the retention/strength of the toe.. I always used to get prereleases from my toe piece. I really want a binding that will keep me in in all but the worst of circumstances.. Do i just up the DIN? On the chart I should be like a 7-8 so.. should I up that for park/BC

anyone who skis a lot of rails tried em? especially interested if you do lots of pretzels/brokens etc..

i have the STH14s. haven't ridden them yet, but i can tell you that they look and feel bombproof. sth12 should be good in your case tho.
