Salomon spk pro 2012!

Still no adjustable canting or really anything else a real boot should have.

This is the UGGS of skiboots.

Had a few pairs, they fit me very well. Cheap boot, poor build quality(a year or 2 ago). The dalbello is a better boot by far, as 3piece goes.

I went back to traditional overlap, i have an inferno 130 now.

Looks cool and clean, black and white.
Same color both feet? Not a big fan of the swap. Interested to see what the Ghost is like. Love that boot.

On the December of LJ Home feed it shows lg walkin with his skis and he's wearing the new spk pros and they are black and white

hooray for the end of ski boots that try to look like snowboard boots! I'm diggin the new style, but why don't they try to add some new features to the spk sometime? Intuition liner maybe? *hint hint salomon*

they're not exactly performance boots, I realize this as I also own a pair of custom-fitted 120 flex technica race boots, but they fit my screwed up wide feet (my bootfitter called them "sausage feet") better than any other out-of-the-box boot, they give me all the control I need for all-mountain and park riding. Just because a boot isnt a 2mm wide race boot doesn't mean it cant kick ass and wont fit anybody well.

yeah and I'm one of those people, don't hate on a boot just because it's designed for wide-footed people, we're not looking to shell out 300 bucks plus to blow out thin boots and get custom footbeds every time we get a new boot. If the place where the person is getting the boot knows what they're doing, they'll be able to steer people with narrower feet away from spks and towards boots that actually fit them.

so one boot is all white and the other is all black, thats a little dissappointing, IMO if both were that black they would be dope

My bad, missed that. That sucks. They never have done that with the Pro, was hoping they wouldn't start...

yea but with my expierence in fitting people in boots 80% of park kids do not want a boot that fits "correctly" they all want their shoe size which is not the proper fit it should be tight around your foot and toes touching the front not cramed people buys spks becuase they have cool looking graphics have technology you can see and almost anyone can put their foot into they especially for someone who has a fairly wide foot who cant use all dalbellos or fulltilts

i was trying to look up what the pros are going to look like on google and this thread came up
the question of "are both boots the same?" came up a while back but was never answered. they are the same

spk rider here.. don't get me wrong, they just seem so fucking boring... pro models with leather on were maybe less practical but they were dope, even more with the leather off... this is just as boring as my less favourite kaos boot - the black one lol

Bought some second hand 2011 spks for $80 and they fit better because the guy that had worn them packed them out, love em because they are cheap, light as fuck easy to repair as well took two hours for a new top strap and all rivets replaced for $25. Also quite like the flex on them aswell when riding big pow skis can pop up onto and out mostly anything.

Aslong as they fit your feet they are fine,

I just got some 2012 spk pros for the rest of teh season, and they fell really good. They are so much lighter then the old ones with the leather, I did not think I would notice it much but its quite significat. They fit basically the same as the old one, and I think there stiffer but thats proberly just that mine old ones were worn out. As for the design, yeah its simply but who needs flashy boots as long as they fit well, and ride even better.

As for fit on SPKs you can always get a foam injection liner put in them and then they will fot any foot, Thats what I have done with every pair I have had.

indeed. and that is why i ride SPKscolors are just fashion!

by the way these new boots are both black, rumors are lying (can be seen in B&E show and elsewhere)

Ok I am super uncertain about these boots. I got my hands on a pair the other day and checked them out... the boot itself appears to be exactly the same EXCEPT the rubber toe bit for preventing toe-bang. This is the bit that sketches me out. It's actually quite soft rubber. I don't know about you guys but on my boots this area is scuffed to hell from hitting rocks, steps, stairs, ice when bootpacking, skis, all that kinda stuff. I really don't feel good about how likely it is to hold up to the kind of abuse it'll get, considering it's intended as a park boot. And seriously, if you split it, snow/water is just going to pour in the front and freeze your toes. To cap it off, it's moulded into the shell, so you can't just replace it easily.
Dealbreaker, in my opinion, but it'll be very interesting to see how this one plays out.

Anybody else look at that guys face. It's weird as hell, his eyes are that of a large barn owel's.

I just ordered 2012 SPK pro 90's. Theyre a bit different in design and are a bit wider for wider feet. Tried them and they were really comfy (fuck my feet and not being able to get dalbello...)

Am i the only person who acctually fits spks properly? Maybe i just have pancake feet but i fill out the liner perfectly not loose anywhere any no pressure points. I can ride first to last lift for weeks and jave no issues and not want to take them off at the end of the day they are so comfy (like snug comfy, not slippers) my only complaint is my feet can get a bit cold on the really cold days but i hear that was a problem with 09/10 spks for others.
