On the msp web site Dav talks about the new Salomon rocker which I have read will be 200+cm long and 110+mm in the waist. Sound narley.

Anyone heard anything about these?

Let's hope it strays from their normal design and has a good core without some super gnarly 18m sidecut.

Salomons sad attempt at being cool. Face it salomon nobody likes you... well thats not true but I don't like you

they'll probably be really soft like all their other skis. I really doubt it will ski like its size would suggest.

The big mountain fatty is a go. The twin is on hold. Both still in proto stages.

The big mountain has rocker, is called "rocker". It has rocker in the

front, flat under foot, and a touch of camber in the tail. I gather a

sort of subtle "s" shape. The idea is that a fully rockered ski, like a

spat, etc, doesn't give any support in the backseat when hucking

monster cliffs. This ski does.

Both are in proto stages....working on a possible Midseason January-March release...I think it could be even a bit longer.

lolzzzzz. fat skis are so silly

i better start saving up so i can buy them and shred the roundtop/whitetail/liberty pow pow

they look like litlle rockets though with sharp nose and spread tail

coming in green and white pretty dope skiing with them but i prefer guns...for pure freeriding are superb but for jumping no go

i would personally make love to a 110mm, 200cm+, stiff rockered ski with little sidecut.

but only if its wood core & wont go all concave like the foam core sallys

Uh, NO the Salomon Rocker is NOT a noodle & why would 200cm length be dumb on a powder/big mountain specific type of ski?? Probably because you can’t handle it. Salomon and the other companies who are making specific powder/big mountain skis are not just following another trend or fad. Look at what the pro's are riding on. Armada, Line, K2, and a few others are all coming out with a ski similar to the Rocker. These skis are a direct result from sponsored athlete skier/jibber (YEP, JIBBER) input and a TON of R&D. Don't go bad mouthing something when you have absolutely no knowledge or experience to back it up. Gee, I guess you could if you skied the Rocker in a park. Damn, that would suck. Or if you took a park specific ski to go heli skiing in Alaska, DAMN that would REALLY suck. But come on, man, get real! Go ski’em where they’re meant to be skied and guess what, THEY WONT SUCK! Amature weekend posers who make these kind of lame comments need to sack up and get WAY out of your comfort zones.

I've seen the fat and long salomon fatty. The sidecut is a bit weird, with a big shovel width (I wanna say 150+) and then I believe a swallow tail. Definitely atleast 110 underfoot. This was at a tradeshow demo day, and I didn't try skiing it as both I couldn't muscle a ski like that (5'7 140lbs) and conditions were nowhere near what that ski would excel at (hardpack).
