Salomon QST Pro

So I love the 2016 QST Pro series but it looks like they've made quite a bit of changes since. They used to be more of an alpine boot but it seems like they're really transitioning into an AT boot. I understand they are trying to market them as a combo of both but does anyone have any input on how they would do as a boot that would see 75% of its time in resorts?

They're fine overall, but they are pretty soft. I'd say the QST Pro 130 feels closer to a 115, and its flex pattern is pretty linear. It also doesn't have the best rearward support. But they are really light for a 50/50 boot.

If you want something with more of a progressive and stiffer flex, I'd check out the Tecnica Cochise, Lange XT Free, Nordica Strider, Rossi Alltrack Elite, and Dalbello Lupo Pro HD.

Alright thanks. It’s been between the lupo and chochise for me but thought ide ask about the qst’s

I’ve been on the qst pro 130s for for the last three seasons and I absolutely have loved them. I’ve ridden everything from park and urban to japan powder on them and everything else on them. Will agree they’re alittle on the softer side but for a crossover boot they’re badass af.

The shop I work at has them. It's a decent boot but I feel the fit is a little sloppy compared to four buckle hybrid boots. If you're looking for a hybrid I'd suggest the Tecnica Cochise. Bottom line though is to go to your bootfitter and make your own judgements.

Do you have any input on the alltrack pro 130 GW (khaki green)? I just got a pro deal for nearly 90% off and can't find it anywhere near me to try on

I don't have any experience with that boot, but a friend who's opinion I trust really likes the Alltrack 130 LT (said it was pretty on-par with the Cochise 130 in terms of uphill and downhill performance). Given that the Alltrack Pro 130 shares a really similar design but uses polyether instead of Grilamid, I imagine that the Pro version could potentially be even better in terms of downhill performance and durability, but probably a bit worse on the up simply due to the extra weight. But at least based on the specs, it seems like it'd be a solid option for 75% resort use, of course, that's only if it fits.

Alright thanks. Appreciate it man

Don’t be talking about shop deals on gear…bad karma

Ehh I never do but I thought I should explain that my interest came from the deal not the boot's specs or fit
