Salomon Mission Rs 7

So i can get the salomon mission rs 7 boot at a local shop for $180. is this a good boot and a good price? I am a lower intermediate skier

i ride the rs 8 from sally and its a great boot for me. ive been skiing for 11 years and it works well. i would like a stiffer flex and a little more heal hold but for the money its great. i reccomend them.

its a great boot. really comftorable, but the only reason i dont ride it is cuz its not stiff enough for me.no homo

yaeh, a tech really can rivet any boot if they have the tools. may cost an arm and a leg , but a tech could shave the shell to make the bolt feel flush, then toss a rivet in to make it helllaa stifff.

hmm. do you guys know of anywhere i can see the way a boot works cause i dont understand how rivets will work. i know they do on the rs10 but i dont understand. lol

With a boot, there's a lower shell and an upper shell. The upper shell attaches to the lower at the two main pivot points (one left, one right) and the flex of the boot is actually the upper shell pivoting at the lower. To stiffen up a boot like this, you need to stop the boot from pivoting. At the rear of the boot, the upper shell and lower shell overlap. If you drill a hole (or two depending on how stiff you need it) through the boot where the two shells overlap and put a large screw & t-nut through it, you just made your boot stiffer. Your boot won't pivot but it will flex because the plastic gives. It's how an SPK, Ghost, Impact 10, RS 12, and many many other boot designs operate.
