Salomon kaos boots 08 09

I rode the SPK Kaos this year. I found that after a while, only having 2 buckles was not the best setup support-wise, and you either have to rachet your foot in super tight, which hurts, or have it looser which increases shin bang. Because of the way they're designed, they're also difficult to get on. In the first few weeks I had them, I had to keep my foot in the liner, then put the liner in, or take it out of the shell to put them on or take them off.
Also, the built quality is poor. The power strap fell off after 2 weeks on one boot, the plastic keeps getting caught, and pinches the foot when closing every so often, and you have to manual wrench the boot open to put it back in place.
On the plus side:They are significantly wider than Full Tilt, so for someone with a wider foot, these should be an option. Also, the fur liner is very warmCheaper than FT
Overall, I would not buy the boot again. The only thing stopping me from buying FT was the narrowness. But now they are wider, I would certinaly invest in them.

Spark notes: Kaos don't support the foot well, break easily. Buy FT

personally im feelin the spks aha, there like puttin your foot in a cloud, but i did find a got shin bang pretty easily.. just by slightly over jumping or just landing wrong hah. and i wouldnt worry about cold cause i live up north where its freezing er day and i just throw on skiing thick socks, then my boots and im fine for the whole day.

mind you i have never tried full tilt and i heart here very good.

i love my spk's, they dont stop shin bang - i dont think any boot can do that! (even full tilts!). i only get shin bang if i land backseat loads. i got mine fitted with a custom footbed and heatmolded, took me a few hours of trying on different boots but spks were the best fit for me.

I went to a bootfitter, and had the liner moulded twice. I just found that there was a lot of heel lift in the boot, most probably due to having only toe and shin buckles. I found that when I wore Full Tilt Hot Doggers, my feet felt a lot more supported. But I do have wider feet, and underlying shin problems, so if a boot doesnt fit well, I fucking feel it.

hey man those spks the only way youll get shin bang is if you loose your form

the boots are awsome and way cheaper than full tilt

i got a pair I'm trying to sell. New in the box. If nobody claims 'em I'm tossing them in the pre-season bonfire.
