Salomon hates men of Goliath stature

So I got a good amount of money together and was planning on getting a sick pair of boots to replace my shitty, beaten down, ground down to a nub from parking lot walks boots. I wanted to spend some good cash and get the new Ghost's. I go into my shop, and I find out that Salomon, probably the biggest skiing company out there, does not make freeski boots over size 29.5. I am a size 30, honestly, come on.

Now I will have resort to get a pair of gaper style all mountain boots. Now the question I ask you folks is this, what boot is better, the Impact 10 or Mission 10? My foot is wide and I hear the Mission is wider than the Impact, but that's the only thing I know that differentiates these two boots. Anyone know anything else about these boots?

Did you try the 29.5 on? Boots pack out a ton dude, and even if the 29.5 is snug at first it wont be after a few days.

hey loser, i dont actually know you in real life but if i did i would beat the shit outta you for being such a bitch, so quit bitchin because its just half a cm smaller. jk arman i love you

just get the falcon 10s, more or less the same boot for less money.
although they might not make them in 30 either, don't know for sure.

sticker your boots up so much that you can't tell the model or make

like completely cover

they will get torn up but will look incredible legit

your foot must be bigger than that because spks run like a size big. unless the ghost is out of a different mold......

you must be a 30.5 at least. im a 29.5 technica, but i fit perfectly in 28.5 SPKs. check out other brands then.

yea and seeing as theyre not making ghosts big enough for you how do you even they would be the right boot for you? as said before just try other rands if you want good boots and they might even be a better choice.

If you didnt fit in spk;s you wouldnt fit in ghost's.

seeing as theyre the old pro model last, which is the narrowest last salomon makes.

I like how you said gaper... its pretty fitting in this case.

just get a custom moulded footbed that supports your arch. that'll make your foot slightly shorter so they should fit better. plus they pad down to like 10-15%.

for real ive heard from so many kids that the spk packs out a ton. like kids had to sell them after a few days because they were too big after they packed out

get the ghost 29.5 then have the boot fitter punch out the tightest spots, my race boots are 2 sizes too small, and with the work i have on them they are snug but they dont kill my feet

umm in terms of company size, im going to have to go ahead and say that quiksilver basically owns half of the industry... and i believe that may include rossi, (not sure) and i have a solution, just cut your toes off, it solves multiple problems, you can fit into your old shoes, you can get ghosts, you dont have to cut you toenails, you want stub you toe, instead youll stub your... stub? the only downside, is you cant wear thong sandals

i like how u call urself goliath because you have big feet. i wear a 14 or 15 shoe, but im running 29.5 boots. i grind some of the plastic in the heel and toe to give me the length i need, plus a custom footbed and possibly a heel lift and im cooking with gas. its all one big puzzle that u have to put together.

that being said if u have wide feet, you dont want ghosts its a falcon (read super narrow) last. look at the nordica ignition, its the freeride version of the beast, super dope for ze wider footed jibbers

who the fuck calls someone a gaper based on their boots?

seriously, you can barely see them unless you are like tucking your pants into them

he has a wide foot, so that is DEFF not the boot for him. depending on how tight the salamons are you might want to go with them because my spks packed out a shit ton. There are a lot of boots out there man and everyones foot is different so go find a legit boot fitter and have him do work son.

will people please stop giving boot advice over the internet. Just because Dalabelos were amazing for you does not mean they will be amazing for someone else.

I hate to say it, but salomon is pretty much it for huge ski boots. I have wide sasquach feet, and well they are the only ones that do it for me.

If the 29.5 feel tight, but still comfy enough to wear.....bust those out and go to a boot fitter. Honestly they will work WONDERS. Or call up salomon and check out if they can custom order you some. It may cost the big $$ but it will be worth it. Boots schould be the item that you spend the most money on. Seriously they are what keep me going all day. If my feet are cold, and hurting........i am BOUND to have a really bad day.

Well, all my life I have been loving Salomon boots cause they fit my foot really well so I wouldn't mind keeping that level of comfort up. I could care little of how the boot looks, I just rather have something more freeski specific, hence why I call the other boots gaperesque, as a joke, you know, ha ha. You guys tell me to squeeze in to 29.5 boots, fuck that. If I am going to dish out $500 from my pocket, I want them to fit from day ONE, I shouldn't have to wait for the boots to get packed out.

Now back to my original question, does anyone know anything about these Impact or Mission 10s?

The Impact series is dope, I tried some 10s on a while ago and they felt amazing. I couldnn't afford them and ended up buying Foils which are comparable to the impacts but a little cushier and more park specific. Unless you weigh a lot 10s are probably overkill.

But it doesn't really matter what I have to say, boots are all about how they fit YOU. Go try some on, see how they feel.

Ok, pretty much their are enough companies out there for you to not have to wear salomon boots... go into a ski shop that have the biggest selection around and spend 2 hours trying on boots.
If you are really set on salomon then the Falcon CF has a moldable shell so you should be able to get it to fit the best.
also another note for everyone buying boots.... there is no difference at all between 29 and 29.5
or 30 and 30.5. Most companies just put that sticker on the boot to make the general public feel special.
I believe it is only salomon that make a dfiference as they sometimes put something under the footboard the make the volume of the boot smaller.
If you say you have a wide foot and you want your boots to fit well from day one then maybe you should consider something in the freeride range from lange, like a freeride 120 or a Banshee. They are really good boots and the Banshee is a pure freeride boot and has a sick liner with gel pads and all sorts of things. and are 110 flex, there is also a Banshee pro that is 130 flex if you are indeed a "Goliath"
hope this helps

boots arn't supposed to fit from day one. If you get the one that fits and feels perfect on the first day it won't fit right after 5 days.

Find a GOOD ski shop and walk in and say, I need boots, I ski this type of terrain, my foot size is this, and my skiing style is this. Make me happy.

Um yeah there is half sizes tend to have a different foot bed that allows for the fool to sit lower in the boot and every company does that not just a few

meh 29.5-30 theres not that much of a difference, and once you wear the 29.5 for a while it's volume will increase by a lot and will turn out a half size bigger anyways.

Anyone looking to pursue the perfect turn and spend the majority of their days shredding corduroy may share your opinion. However, if you truly want boots that perform, downsize them in the store. Your liners will compact as you ski, as much as 1/4in - 1/2in according to some boot fitters.

If properly fitted, your boots will be uncomfortable and should feel very tight in the store. But try to allow 7-10 ski days for your boots to break in. After you break them in, they will fit much better

Or, you could go with your gut feeling and get the perfect fit from day ONE. Which is an excellent idea, considering it's late August, you won't be skiing for another couple months, and once you start skiing that perfect fit from day ONE will soon turn into uncomfortable boots with heel lift and shin bang.

true story, i took this route and things didnt work well for me, lots of shinbang and iced shins, just get the 29.5s and stop being such a little bitch.

dude what the first guy said. Get a boot fitter to mold it to your feet. They can trim it down and make the boot fit. They are trained for this. You will ride better and feel more comfortable. I do it every year. It does wonders

I have wide feet and i used to ride salomon boots until they got small and now i have rampages and they fit just as good. my feet fit everything but langes.

The Impact 10's are gonna catering to your skiing ability much greater than the Missions. YOu could even pony up and get the Impact Pro's because those things are legit.

If I were you, I would consider the Falcon line. Although the most narrow, Solly came out with the new CS boots. The now have custom moldable shells! You should definitely check these out, considering your gigantic hoof issues

if you're going to dish out 500 dollars for boots you should buy them so they hurt a little when you try them on in the store. that way when they break in they'll fit how they're supposed to. all boots require a break in period. this can range from some slight discomfort to downright agony, with pretty much everything inbetween. boots that fit comfortably when you try them on are going to be too big when you actually ski in them a few times. solution to this problem you ask? have the boots heat molded at the shop from which you purchase them. that drastically cuts down the break in period. also, wear them around your house while you're sitting around enjoying some free time. this way, your own body heat and the pressure from walking around will pack the boots out before you ever hit the slopes.

i've been fitting boots for about six years and i can tell you with 100% confidence that if you are trying to pick up a size 30 boot to fit well at the point of purchase, that a size 29.5 will most definitely be the size you'll desire when you actually wear the things for a few hours.
