Salomon 914 B85 vs. Look PX 12 Ti JIB Wide

why are you comparing a binding with a brake width of 85mm against a binding with a wide brake?
 
i'm not concerned with the brake width (cause i can just swap out for a larger or smaller brake on either). i put that just to specify which models i was comparing.
 
Im partial to looks over sollys just because of the expierence i've had. Looks never pre-release, and the axial2 heel is pretty nice. The 914's dont really have the same toe piece problems as the 912's, 812's, 810's ect, but they arent as burly as the 916's.

Thats just my opinion.
 
looks without the turntable heel suck. 914's are sweet. they're stronger than 912's and i really don't have any toe height problems. i usually have to readjust the toe height once or twice per season. i have used 914's on the last four or five pairs of skis i've owned, and they've worked wonderfully. get 914's, you won't be disappointed.
 
What's with the adjusting toe height? Don't mean to jack the thread, but pre adjusting it, does your look slip left and right a bit? I had this problem with a pair of s912ti's, do they just need to be tightend or something?
 
looks don't have toe height adjustments. with salomons, you are instructed to be able to slide a .5mm card (pretty much a library card) between the afd and the boot toe when the binding is engaged. you then need to tighten the top screw (about the diameter of a nickle, right on top of the toe piece) so that it requires a slight tug to remove the card. voila, your to height is adjusted properly.

in addition to the toe height adjustment, there is also the toe wing, which is visible from left side of the toe piece. adjust this with a small flathead. tighten this so that the toe wings touch the shell of the boot.

with both of these adjustments done properly, you'll stay secure in your binding and they'll perform like they are designed to.

damn. anyways, its the striped man lib tech nas's with the look px 12 ti jib's. the green parts of both look sick together.

Looks turntable heel was the reason I loved them, without it they are just like any other binding, and not as good as some...personally I'd look for a Pivot series binding(P12, P14, or the Rossi counterpart)...but if it's between the 914 and the PX heel, I'd go 914.
 
i have px12s on my p4s. Even tho they don't have the turntable, they relase when they supposed to, and stay on when they should.
 
are the px 12 jibs for experienced park skiers or is it a dumb little binding that gets scared easily?

And how heavy are they in comparison to the salomon bindings?
