Ive seen salomon 1080 orange with the yellow backround and salomon letters underneath and others with black backround and salomon logos on the tips....are they the same?

i´m reffering to the part of the ski that is in contact with the snow. Don´t know how else to say it

the ones with black bases are the race base i beleive, and i highly doubt you can get your hands on them unless you have connections. the ones with yellow bases and salomon on them are the ones you'll see 99 percent of the time, the ones you can buy in stores.

i think they might be like the pro model some one correct me if i'm wrong

'kevin whyed nils pull you out?' 'Cuz i was touchin bitches.' 'No seriously why did he put scott in for you.' 'Scott doesn't touch bitches.'

I guess you guys are referring to skis with the P-Tex 6000-density bases? You will only find them on Salomon's race and S-Lab skis. Why? Speed. They can hold more wax and get faster over time IF you are meticulous and take care of them.

Damage to the base via core shots, rails, etc. will result in higher repair bills as p-tex drips will not hold. They will require base welds and a good tech. You have to ask yourself if it's worth it.

Demo days allow all skiers to try different skis to find out which ones reward their brand of poor technique.
