So i was wondering if anyone could name all the generations of the 1080 ski and give pictures that would be great
 
1 Gen 1080 1997-1999: the 1080 x-scream ( Yellow, and Blue)

2 Gen 1080 1999-2000: The Pro Model 1080 ( White:Vinny D Black: CR Orange:?)

Im pretty sure on the dates for those ones, i have no pics though.
 
you didn't even know the blackones were the cusson's...

and the orange were Junpi (Sp?)

1st gen: Yellow

2nd gen: Blue

3rd gen: white w/robot (same year and graphics as 1rst gen pocket rockets)

4th gen: spaceframe multicolor

5th gen: Wings on S

6th gen: Original "foil"

7th gen: Wonderbread

.....your the noob...the yellow, and the blue came out at the same time, they are different sizes. the blue ones had the yellow base, and the yellow had the blue base.
 
thats the complete twin tip line for salomon, cuz i see you threw some pocket rockets in there.. i miss those skis, i now the guns are the same but new name, but come on pocket rockets, every time i checked google for them it would show me viberators. hahah
 
here. the very first 1080 was the yellow Xscream (someone brought a MINT pair into the shop today, was amazed. they looked new) they came out as a pro deal 1998-99, and were publicly released the next season, 99-2000.

after that, the blue version came out in 00/01

finally, the last version of the origional ski, the "pro" models. jap guy, vinny, and JP. 01/02

next, they bumped up to the spaceframe construction. sizing went from 0range, silver, green blue, from longest to shortest. they made these from 02-04.

then we get into the winged S ones in 04/05. still same ski.

last season, we got the Foils, and the spaceframe 1080 remained as the thruster. this year, the model lineup is unchanged.

tada. there you go. the COMPLETE 1080 history. wheres my cookie?
 
oh, and if you wanna talk other skis in the line up,

the white and black 720s were introduced with the blue 1080.

the nest season, they were black with Red Swirl Ss. there was also a 540.

when they switched to spaceframe 1080s, the 7 was orange and yellow. im pretty sure they never made a 540 that year.

they also introduced the PR that year.

the first gen lab skis were introduced along side the second run of the colorcoded spaceframe ones.
 
i was at high north the summer of 2000 and all the pros were on a yellow and BROWN 1080. i know it was for sale to the public because they had it in the salomon store in whistler that suumer. i believe it was a spring 2000 release but the color was way ugly. they switched to the blue for the 00/01 season.

those are SUPER Rare. they made a very small amount of those. i saw them at an expo when they came out. id imagine like the first batch were like that, and then they switched back to the origional color scheme
 
My brother snapped one of his yellow 1080's in half and I have some old blue one laying around. We're thinking of mounting up a blue and yellow set.
 
i have noticed some things that i believe me to be in coorect. this is what i can provide:

02-03 pocket rocket rocket intro

03-04 Spaceframe 1080 (introduction?)

04-05 no change, tho the 720 becomes more like the 1080

05-06 foil introduced, gun lab introduced along with gun

this season they drop pocket rocket design and male the gun lab the gun ski
