Have you guys heard anything about the new TGR movie Salad Dayz. It sounds like a rip off of Happy Dayz.

My friend asked me if i wanted to lay out or go water skiing, and thats when i realized that i dint want to answer this question and or any other aquatic sports question and i didn't want to see any of these people again. Next thing I new I went nuts.

 
why would they call there movie salad dayz if they new there was a movie called happy dayz they are retarted lets go hit them!

 
I doubt it considering the name 'Happy Dayz' was chosen in a public contest on the internet in the begining of last December.

 
Haha, here is a surprise: Small time digi movie maker criticizing one of the largest ski producers on the planet. Of course TGR didn't copy PBP. Why would they do that? TGR sells twice the movies Poorboyz does, why would they want to copy them. And Levin, we all know who you are, so save your comments for something you aren't completely biased for, okay? Or just don't talk at all. That would be good too. Thanks.

 
The new kingpin video is called Happy Hour, PBP is called Happy Dayz, TGR is called Salad Days, Bermans is called Strike 3 and there is another ski vid coming out with some big names called First Strike. Alot of similarities.

even if it was true, which it isn't, it doesn't matter. PBP is the film company progressing our sport, and the film company right now who is killing it. For freestyle skiing, without a doubt, Propaganda was far and beyond the best film of the year. And in regards to the name thing, it could possibly be a oversight since TGR is a bit off the back.

hey, tgr maybe does sell a lil bit more movies than pbp, maybe not in just skiing but tgr makes kayaking and surfing vids too so in total amount of movies sold they maybe have sold more but only skiing vids then yea pbp might beat them...and why the hell do you guys say tgr sucks ass ? if you go watch theyre movies i think theyre really fucking sick...yea you see some stuff from other movies but these guys have some other sick shit in parts of theyre movies ...go check out the collins bro's segs in the movies and the big mtn shit too theyve been progressing stuff there for a while now and not a lot of people have noticed, i mean they are the people that film at chads gap a lot and there is always crazy stuff going on there..something pierre tries this big ass 180 over chads gap, unfortunately he doesnt stick it but still FUCK thats sick, and that is from 3 years ago in los alamos, but saying all this crap id still like to say that pbp is also a great movie comp, but why give a crap about what the movies name is ? judge it on the content and dont judge it on a bias, give it a damned chance and see how sick some of tgr's movies are in correlation to the other shit out there

Dave is coming up to be one of the premiere names in the ski film industry, he is friends with most of the pros and is now an important part in the Poor boyz team. He is active in there projects as well as his videos from what i understand. And your some crabby fucking moran on Newschoolers who knows nothing. Here is a guy who set out with the time and effort to make ski movies, something he loves, and your here fucking trashing him. JUST shut the FUCK up. Please.

 
Anthony, don't get me wrong, I think that Poorboyz consistantly puts out the most progressive movies every year. I love Poorboyz, and everything about them. I think they for sure have better jibbing and park stuff in their movies than TGR. However, TGR does sell more ski movies. Hell, ask Dave Levin about circulation if you'd like. I am right. Just because you and all your buddies in Michigan buys the Poorboyz vids, doesn't mean they sell more total. TGR has a broader audience, period. Now, I choose to single out Dave Levin and give him shit because he is a mad shit talker. I don't respect people who do nothing but complain about what others have and what they don't. No love for people like that. And BK, you are hilarous. 'He is friends with most of the pros.' Do you know how gay that sounds? I don't care who you know, if you talk shit about people who don't deserve it, I am going to point that out. Here is a little message for Mr. Levin: young filmmakers are indeed good for the sport. I think guys like you and Iberg can really help it out. However, if you keep up your shit talking attitude, people aren't going to help you out. And without that, you will not make it in this industry. I promise. Don't forget who was doing this shit when you were in diapers, okay? If it weren't for companies like TGR keeping this shit alive over the years, you probably wouldn't even be skiing. Have some respect. Just because they are not cutting edge jib scene, doesn't mean that they don't deserve what they have. There is a world outside of park skiing. I suggest you discover it and learn some respect. Yeah petedogg, i have to go with BK on this one. I have never heard Dave Levin talk shit and i have even met him and he seems like a super cool guy. I dont know if you have any personal problems but your coming off like a moran writing these damn essays about Dave being a shit talker who is really doing some cool stuff with PBP and then letting us know here on NS when it happens. So just chill out. If you dont like shit talkers then just stop and take a look at yourself.

I like tgr flicks, have seen them since I was like 12. Sometimes their music is questionable, and in the realm they threw some surfing in there, and i don't care for commentary, but it's nothing to not be able to get passed.

 
sif' TGR sucks, candides segment in further is so good, and when it shows him doing chads that is awesome. i ont like there general mix of 70/30 bigmountain/newschool, thats the only thing that is crap about them.

TGR makes the lamest videos. All there shit is so lame. I dont think i would want any of my shots in there videos even if they paid me. and as of PBP, I think they make one of the best videos around. I mean every year that they make a sick

video. They blow me away about how good the shots were and the way they put the videos together. It doesnt matter how big a video production is. Leven videos are way better then TGR anyday. TGR might be big but it still sucks ass.

What I dont like about TGR:

- shitty fucking music

- shit quality sound mixing of the music

- warren miller style narration

- super slow mo on almost all of the newschool

- extremly badly put together newschool segments

- too much boring big mountain, as opposed to MSP who has amazingly sick big mountain

- way too many half ass skiers that shouldn't be in ski vids (Jason Prigge, etc.)

- too much alaska, there are other big mountain filming places ya know

shane mcwannabe hit the spot on why TGR sucks balls. however, I think it's wrong to assume they snaked the name 'salad dayz' from PBP. Obviously they called it that because they spend so much time tossin each other's salads over at TGR.

 
the first thing i have to say is that dave levin has already made it in the ski industry, he works for poorboyz doing web design and also edits for the movie.

With that said, Mr. Levin, please, do not try to patronize me. I am much more intelligent than you are, and I think you are beginning to learn this. And children, it doesn't matter to me what you think of my post. I am quite indifferent to your reactions. I would just like to see the gentleman in question take a second look at himself. Now, have I actually met Dave Levin. I don't think so. However, a number of my friends know him, and actually shoot with him, and I haven't heard one person say something about him other than his shit talking ways. Aight fuck, this kind of garbage is disturbing. I'm no stranger to layin down some smack, but within reason. I do know petedogglicks and I do know he has some solid information resources whether it be right or wrong.

Also petedogglicks, you and I have talked about dave levin and you do know I have enormous amounts of respect for him as a producer and as a person. So it's not everyone as you say.

Here's how I look at it. There isn't a single ski filming company out there that sucks. There are different tastes and every flick that is made brings the sport to a new population. To some of us, Warren Miller's footage is whack and gay. But to the general public (who pay our bills) Warren Miller movies are the highlight of their seasonal anticipation. And to some of these people, PBP has too much park. Different strokes for different folks.

Here's the mother fuckin bottom line yo. Dave Levin is one of the coolest cats around and I KNOW he wouldn't talk shit about me or anyone else for that matter. I've hung out with him enough to have seen all of his personality, he's the shit. Not only that, he's one talented mother fucker. It's all an opinion, just like everything else. That and PBP is one of my favourite production companys along with Berman and a few other newcomers and they are the videos that I see pushing the part of the sport that I enjoy. But each and every production company pushes one section of the sport in turn doing us all a favour. So next time you see johnny D or Levin or Berman or Jeff Thomas or the guys from MSP bow down and start suckin cuz they've certainly done us all a huge favour.
