I hate line as much as the next guy but I had the opportunity to get a pair of sakanas for pretty cheap. I am. 5’10 and i ski 183 wides and 183 wide pluses but since vishnu ski short should i get 174 sakanas or 181s.

Go for the 174. Line recommends going a size smaller than you normally would. I ski 181s and 186s but went with the 174 Sakana and don’t regret it at all.

I'm 5'8" 160 and have some 181 Sakanas. Yes, they are longer than Line recommends, but they are more versatile at that length. I am used to mid 180 length skis and these don't feel too long, I've skied both the 174 and the 181 and went with the 181. But, if you're only getting them for pure carving, maybe get the 174. I went +2cm on the mount after trying them at the recommended line and like it more.

I saw a few posts where some Line Worshippers bashed people for not mounting it at the factory point. Do yours feel any bit different at the +2? I think Im getting the 174s for just pure carving (Im about 5'9" and 160 lbs) and Ill probably keep them at factory rec for mounting.

I had them mounted at recommended when I had pivots on them. Then I put some kingpins on for spring touring, my hand was forced, I had to move them 2cm forward to accommodate the kingpin.

That said, I don't feel much difference whil carving, and it feels a bit more balanced in the air (although I tend not to get too rowdy on tech toes). I think if I had to do it again, I would split the difference and go +1cm.
